Is it me or did the defense look soft?

I felt that they gave them to much room and the Pats took advantage of it. I think they should have played up on the line most of the game and jammed their receivers giving our line more of a chance and throwing their timing off.

I think it is just you.
If the offense doesn't continually shit the bed and leave the D on the field all game, we have a chance.  And if we aren't down to our punt returner defending Josh Gordon, we might have a chance.
Jamming WRs isn't used as much with the rule changes.  And Sherels isn't Rhodes by any stretch.

Defense was completely wore out in the fourth quarter yesterday.

who the fuck is Sherels going to jam at the LOS?  hell he was giving 10 yard cushions to avoid getting burnt over the top.... but lets be honest,  when we have our 5th and 6th corners playing against brady.... who honestly doesnt expect a shit storm?

I think with Rhodes and Waynes though we need to see more of them at the LOS messing up the timing routes and short yardage shit,  they have the length and speed to recover and it should be used more often than not IMO.

The defense was completely and utterly gassed. They were on the field again for a long time because the offense couldn't sustain drives. Also the defense gave the offense a turnover and they couldn't capitalize on it. They need balance. It's unreasonable and unrealistic to expect the defense to carry the team repeatedly. The OL is atrocious as we all know. I am watching the game again (glutton for punishment perhaps?) and irritated all over again at the lack of using Cook. Put Murray in to block for Dalvin. Watching the OL get manhandled over and over again is nauseating.

Yeah they were gassed by the end. That 1st half was played mostly on our side of the field it seemed. We were still in it at the half. When the 2nd half couldn't give them a break on offense and injuries piled up it was too much for them. When playing Bill and Brady there can be no blood in the water. The defense was bled out by the 4th.

Its not just you.  It appeared that running up the middle gained the Patriots quite often and they rode the screen passes forever.  The defensive line was largely absent during this game.  And its never a good thing when you have to play two undrafted players as your cornerbacks.
