We've been unable to run screens all season. There was a horrifying stat that last week, Cook gained 26-yards on a screen, which was more than all of the other running back screens they ran this season combined. OL is a big part of it, but their complete inability to run screens is odd.

The essence of a screen is letting the pressure head to the QB, while a lineman or two pulls for a block, and then throw the ball when half the defense is running the wrong way and your blockers are out front.  We just throw the ball immediately at the RB.  The defense hasn't had any time to get out of position and there's no time for blockers to get out front, so the defender is in the right spot and just tackles the RB for a loss or short hard earned gain.

All the concerns about the offensive line have come home to roost.

Running a screen isn't on the line.  You run screens with a purpose of letting people through.  Our screens just never fool anyone.  As Medaille sez, perhaps we don't let it setup.  Whatever the cause, we just don't fool anyone, the defense seems to be ready and waiting.

It is baffling. Screens should be a natural for us.  The one thing our OL has been consistently good at for a decade is letting people run by them.
