I said it a month ago amd will say it again.  Blow the whole thing up.  Was ecited when  the got Kat,  bUT his lack of give a shit half the time is sad.  Same for Wiggins.   Tibs needs to go as well,  his one redeeming factor was landing butler bit he couldn't make that work and lost lavine in the process.  Time to hit reset once again on the browns of the nba.

I would agree to an extent.  There is no way the Wolves should get rid of KAT.  He is the team and you have to build around him.  Bringing in Saric and Covington is a good thing.

I think the biggest issue I had with Thibs was that he got rid of Rubio.  That's right, Ricky Rubio.  What Ricky lacked in "shooting", he gained in FT%, defense, passing, and court vision.  Teague is not that and has not provided a strong offensive flow since Ricky left.  Ricky may not be the 3-point specialist Steph Curry is, but he can drive the lane and create plays that Teague just cannot.  You cannot have 5 guys vying for 15 shots a game.
well if Kat doesnt show something soon he needs to be gone,  even offensively he plays to soft to often.  theres a time for his step back jumpers and a time to force the issue and draw some fouls in the paint and get their bigs out of the game but he never seems to really take it at the opposing teams inside guys.

While I understand your point, I'm not sure what you are looking for from him.  His last game with JimmyBummer, he recorded 39 points, 19 boards, 1 assist (I think to Jimmy by the way as a parting gift), and a block.  All that was 15 baskets of 27 attempts and 7-7 from the line.  I didn't see anything wrong with his game that night, nor did I see anything wrong with KAT the year before JimmyButt joined the Wolves.  He is not Hack-a-Shaq, who's going to go to the line 10+ times a night.  KAT is a cornerstone to build off of...I'm surprised you don't see that and want to move away from him.

What the Wolves need are support players, just like every powerhouse team.  Hell, Steph Curry needed Thompson, who is a better Wiggins (doesn't play D, but shoots very well), he needed Draymond (who plays like a poor-man's Dennis Rodman, but won't be the leading scorer game in and game out), and now he has Durant, who may be one of the best swingmen in the game.  He also had Andre Iguodala, who is similar to Covington, IMO.
I want to see a power guy in the paint that will play defense and force the issue on offense once in a while.  Kat has the size,  but he doesnt seem to like contact and tends to let the defender off to easy in the post play IMO.   I like bigs that will attack the basket both for scoring and for rebounds.  the easiest way to beat your man is to get him in foul trouble early and he either has to lay off you or they will sit him,  in sports we always talk about going for the jugular,  well a guy in foul trouble should be blood in the water for a basketball team on offense and I dont see KAT working his man hard early in games to get him in trouble... KAT however tends to get worked from time to time and it usually ends up as a wolves loss because he committs those fouls and sits half the game.

Well, I can assure you that every team in the league would vie to have KAT in their starting rotation at the 4 or 5, save for whichever team JB is playing on.

KAT is an unique player.  I agree that he is not the guy who is looking for contact and may not stop every player from coming into the paint (ala Dennis Rodman) and I too loved the passion that KG played with no matter who was playing against him.  That said, KAT is not the problem.  He is an All Star and a player to build off of.  If you need to move him to the 4 (or keep him at the 5) and get a 5 (or 4) who is just going to bang, then do it...why get rid of the talent that KAT possess?  He provides so much more than what you are minimalizing him for.  He's not Shaq and he's not KG.  But he sure is a talented Big who can do a lot.

If you want to get rid of the rest of the team, save for Saric...maybe Covington, that's fine with me.  I cannot stand Teague.  If you want to talk about soft, Wiggins should be the first one who comes to mind.  Thibs is also a blowhard who seems to not understand that game as much as he was touted to.  Taylor needs to move on and let someone else take over and they need to keep separate duties for each individual; not dual responsibilities or roles.  I think we will see Saric and Covington provide a little more life into this team.  They embody characteristics that will mesh well with KAT.

I'm not a Wolves fan and haven't seen much of KAT to see if he has issues re intensity and effort. It's clear he has a lot of talent at least on the offense side of the court. And if he grabbed 19 boards, that is damned impressive.
But the comment that Klay Thompson shoots but does not play defense means someone has not been watching Klay play. There may not be a better guard defender in the NBA than Klay. He is an elite defender. If you want to say that Steph is a great shooter but a poor defender, maybe. Steph can get taken to school on defense. Maybe he is too small. But Klay? He can defend with the best of them.

theres a guy Minnesota should go after.  Thompson would be a great addition to the Wolves IMO and is set to be a FA IIRC after this season.

Klay would look better with the same uni his pops wore. Just saying.

KAT isn't Boogie Cousins yet. But his effort on Defense sure reminds me of him.

You're exactly right about Thompson's defense.  I've watched him play quite a bit actually.  He is the Scotty Pippen to Steph, IMO.  I don't know why I would have written he wasn't good on defense.  That was kind of my point about him too, that he is a big part of the success of that team; it's not just one player, but key pieces to the team that make them successful.  If it was just Steph, they wouldn't be anywhere.  Steph proved to do some fantastic things at Davidson, but without the top supporting cast he has today, they wouldn't be the Golden State Warriors they have been over the last several years.

Steph is an MVP, but he is easily the worst defender of the Big 4. Draymond is great on defense. As is Klay. KD is really good on D when he needs to be.  Steph defends the opponent's weaker guard and does just barely enough on D.  But he is ridiculous on offense.  I've never been impressed with Boogie's defense so it will be interesting to see him play later this year.
