Jimmy Butler out
#11
I really like Saric and Covington is a nice piece to add defensively.  JimmyBummer was a waste of space and overstayed his welcome.  I was really excited in the possibility of bringing in Josh Richardson from Miami, as he is very talented.

That said, Saric is a very underrated player, IMO.  He will fit the stretch 4 position well and mesh well with Towns.  This will allow the offense to go through Towns again.  Having Saric and Towns as the 4 and 5 is going to be fun to watch.  Maybe...just maybe, this will allow Wiggins to pick up his game as well.

The problem this doesn't solve is what had Butler PO'd in the first place: Wiggins and KAT only playing one side of the court.  Basically this is the victory of 2 one-dimensional "franchise" players over the player and coach who tried to get them to at least fake like they cared about defense.

Butler going public made things worse, but I can guess how frustrated he'd gotten privately  seeing the difference between Thibs' Chicago teams built on defensive effort and the TWolves' "stars" treating half the game like paid vacation.

If 4-time all-star Butler couldn't light a fire under their asses, good luck to Covington inspiring a defensive renaissance in this bunch.

I said it a month ago amd will say it again.  Blow the whole thing up.  Was ecited when  the got Kat,  bUT his lack of give a shit half the time is sad.  Same for Wiggins.   Tibs needs to go as well,  his one redeeming factor was landing butler bit he couldn't make that work and lost lavine in the process.  Time to hit reset once again on the browns of the nba.

No, the problem was, if true, that JimmyBastard slept with KAT's girl.  If I were KAT I wouldn't have been motivated by that loser either.  Frankly, I'm surprised KAT even played when he was on the court.

I have never been a fan of Wiggins as he's a poor-man's Carmelo, who does nothing but shoot.  I'm hoping he can find himself soon and/or improve his game and that these blue-collar players will bring a new resurgence for him and this team.

The problem with Jimmy is Jimmy was all about Jimmy.  I was pumped to have him, thinking he would have been a great motivator by his game, but his mouth was too big and his actions were inexcusable, IMO.

I would agree to an extent.  There is no way the Wolves should get rid of KAT.  He is the team and you have to build around him.  Bringing in Saric and Covington is a good thing.

I think the biggest issue I had with Thibs was that he got rid of Rubio.  That's right, Ricky Rubio.  What Ricky lacked in "shooting", he gained in FT%, defense, passing, and court vision.  Teague is not that and has not provided a strong offensive flow since Ricky left.  Ricky may not be the 3-point specialist Steph Curry is, but he can drive the lane and create plays that Teague just cannot.  You cannot have 5 guys vying for 15 shots a game.

well if Kat doesnt show something soon he needs to be gone,  even offensively he plays to soft to often.  theres a time for his step back jumpers and a time to force the issue and draw some fouls in the paint and get their bigs out of the game but he never seems to really take it at the opposing teams inside guys.

Ah, now I understand why he might be soft...he watches too many Despicable Me movies.  Great movies, but not for the leader of your basketball team.  He needs to go now!

While I understand your point, I'm not sure what you are looking for from him.  His last game with JimmyBummer, he recorded 39 points, 19 boards, 1 assist (I think to Jimmy by the way as a parting gift), and a block.  All that was 15 baskets of 27 attempts and 7-7 from the line.  I didn't see anything wrong with his game that night, nor did I see anything wrong with KAT the year before JimmyButt joined the Wolves.  He is not Hack-a-Shaq, who's going to go to the line 10+ times a night.  KAT is a cornerstone to build off of...I'm surprised you don't see that and want to move away from him.

What the Wolves need are support players, just like every powerhouse team.  Hell, Steph Curry needed Thompson, who is a better Wiggins (doesn't play D, but shoots very well), he needed Draymond (who plays like a poor-man's Dennis Rodman, but won't be the leading scorer game in and game out), and now he has Durant, who may be one of the best swingmen in the game.  He also had Andre Iguodala, who is similar to Covington, IMO.
