Can't help but root for the kid. He didn't get much of a shot, IMO.
He should have never been put into the position he was.  How are you going to spend the Money on a franchise QB for a Super bowl then put a Rookie Kicker on the roster.
If hes going to play in the NFL there is no protecting him.  Doesnt matter what team you’re on.
Bull, Blair Walsh was ok situation when the Vikings drafted him.  Super bowl wasn't something people were thinking of.

This season is a marked season, and a Rookie Kicker should have never been part of the plan.  Kicker with a track record of kicking should have.

Carlson might end up being a good kicker,  but he needs a minute to develop on a team that doesn't need him to be great now.

I f you're a bottom tier team you can take a chance on a big leg kicker and let him develop, go through the ups and downs, but the Vikings didn't have time for that.  One game could cost home field advantage.
...and then what happened to Walsh?  Hes out of the league as far as I know.  So what did starting him off on the Vikings do for him?

And are you telling me that just because youre on a team the may not be considered a contender, the pressure is off?  and its okay to miss kicks and lose games on some teams?
What about the coaches that need to win to keep their jobs?  If you miss kicks in this league you are gone, no matter what team.
Sincerely yours,
Mason Crosby

how often do you see teams cutting kickers before the have a decent chance to redeem themselves?

and I am sure that if it really mattered to me to try and win the internet that I could go back through game logs and find other instances of kickers struggling and not being cut and coming back around to be successful.... but it really doesn matter that much.

The hook is a lot longer on a team that's rebuilding, then a team that's competing.

I just saw this thread after the Saints game and I figured it was going to be about Griffen jumping offsides Confused
