Amazing what just a few seconds / minutes of kindness can do:

Conrad Dobler once told me "Get lost kid" in the mid seventies.

Three weeks ago Treadwell threw my son a ball in the stands at Rams game.

Both instances left a lasting impression.

Sometimes humans forget humanity or humility. This is pretty cute. The little guy puts his arms out for a hug and the big guy obliged. That's nice.

Does not surprise me. Dobler was labled the football's dirtiest player while active. So from what you're telling me he was just as big of dirtball away from the field.

Yes he was, I admired his "hard-nosed" "bad-ass" play on the field.
The ST. LOUIS Cardinals were in town to play the Rams, and my dad took me down to try and get an autograph. No one else around the Cards hotel as they went out to team dinner...I asked politely with pen and paper in hand.
I think my dad was more upset than I was (I was just disappointed).  My dad (Who never used a single curse word in his 80 years) said that he was just a "jerk", and that he wasn't worthy of my respect.
Three weeks ago I got the family to the Rams game......Treadwell was throwing the ball to about five or six Vikes fans.My son raised his newly cast arm...and sure as shit Treadwell threw it to him.

Total respect for those players who take the time for kids.
