So I was in a car accident
#1
Yesterday I was driving and a dude ran a stop sign and hit my passenger side. The back door for sure is going to be replaced but not sure about the front door. I have a goose egg on my head with neck, shoulder and back pain. I am thankful it wasn't worse and that I was alone in the car. I was able to slow down and turn the car to minimize the damage. The guy said he didn't see me which I was shocked by. There was a nice Romanian cabbie who was a witness. He actually stayed till the police came. The officer was super nice and helpful. Everyone at the hospital was as well. And of course you do feel worse the next day but it will pass. I am actually taking muscle relaxers for the first time ever.

This has to be the quickest claim ever. I found out today that he accepted responsibility and I will be able to get my car fixed soon. I will be in a rental in the meantime. I will get workman's comp for yesterday and today because I was on the job. I have never gone through that thankfully. My insurance covers my medical and his covers the damage. The adjuster said things that make claims go quickly are honesty and admitting what happened. True that. I am glad this is over.

I saw the car coming at me and I knew it was going to hit me. It was one of those moments when you know something bad is coming and you just have to ride it out. I rode it out. I haven't been in an accident in years. I have never caused one either but it is a reminder how something can happen in an instant. So I went from scared as hell to finding my gratitude. I am glad to be here, I still have a lot of shit to do.

Yikes.....glad you're ok, and that insurance isn't trying to play any games,

just FYI, You also should ask for "diminished value" on your vehicle, as when you go to sell it, people are put off that it's been in an accident. Even if the repairs come back better than new, MOST times an accident report warrants a diminished value settlement

A couple months ago I was rear-ended when I stopped for a pedestrian.  I was not injured even thougn the guy never slowed down.  Car was totaled and I just finally bought a new one a couple of weeks ago.  it was also a quick claim and they gave me great settlement.  I was surprised it went so well.

I am sorry to hear that. Glad you are ok and got a great settlement. It's crazy that your car was totaled when you were rear-ended.

I was hit at about 35 MPH.  It bent the frame, lots of damage.  It is amazing I was unharmed - not evena. sore neck.  I had a 2102 Ford Fusion with 80,000 miles and they gave me $9800.
