Is Cousins on par with Rodgers?
#1
If this game showed me anything it’s that Kirk Cousins is legit. As a fanbase we may have underestimated how good Cousins really is. I think most everyone considered him a great pick up and good overall player but it can be difficult to tell for sure how good a guy is with so much dependent on his supporting cast.

I’m trying to remember the last time we’ve seen such a display of elite ability in a Vikings QB. Favre?

35/48 for 425 yards 4 TD’s and 1 pick. Just outstanding play.

That TD throw to Thielen was just sick. He couldn’t even set his feet right and dropped it in his hands between multiple defenders. There are few capable of such a throw.

I just wanted to say hats off to the guy. He’s sure is enjoyable to watch!

In Kirk Cousins, Packers met a Vikings quarterback who could match Aaron Rodgers' efforts for a change
In a rivalry defined for 25 years by the Green Bay Packers' stability at the most important position, Kirk Cousins went into Lambeau Field on Sunday and threw for 425 yards and four touchdowns.
In a rivalry defined for 25 years by the Green Bay Packers’ stability and the Vikings’ desperation at quarterback, Rodgers encountered a new and worthy foe. Kirk Cousins threw for 425 yards and four touchdowns and produced 22 points in the fourth quarter to steal a 29-29 tie at Lambeau Field.
Had kicker Daniel Carlson made one of his two field-goal attempts in overtime, Cousins would have orchestrated one of the greatest Vikings victories in the rivalry’s history. Instead, he settled for becoming the second Viking ever to throw for 400 yards against Green Bay, along with Randall Cunningham.
Cousins completed 35-of-48 passes and recorded a 118.8 passer rating. His one interception was the result of Laquon “Mittens” Treadwell deflecting an accurate pass to a defender.

Throwing for 400 yards is impressive, and troubling. Cousins last reached that mark in 2016, when he did it twice. On Oct. 30 at Cincinnati, he passed for 458 yards — in a 27-27 tie. On Nov. 24 at Dallas that year, he passed for 449 yards — and lost, 31-26.
After this game, on the field, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer sought out Rodgers. “I told him he’s a great effing player and I hate him. He said, ‘I love-hate you, too.’ He’s amazing, the things he can throw, the things he sees. I still think they should trade him.”
The only time in the last 25 years the Vikings have been able to match the Packers at quarterback was when they signed Rodgers’ predecessor. Cousins has far to travel before he can compare with Brett Favre’s successor. Just this week, Cousins admitted that Rodgers flies “at a different altitude than I do.”
Through two games, Cousins has hinted that his Vikings’ career may require an altimeter all its own.

Rogers is the king of Hail Marys.

I swear it seems like he gets at least ONE a year....if I recall a couple years ago he landed THREE  of them in like a season and a half..... Guys got a horseshoe up his ass...

...and the refs on his knob

425 yards and 4 TDs...somebody or somebodies did a pretty good job of pass blocking.  Everyone fought to the end regardless.  Moving forward, the mistakes can be correct.  It's still a early season and a lot of games ahead.  Cousins surely showed what he's made of.

He played really well. Another thing to point out was the pass breakup by Kendricks that prevented a sure TD to Adams after the turnover.

Cousins's arm strength has always been underrated for some reason. He's got plenty of arm.

Kirk Cousins' 91.3 PFF grade from yesterday is the highest of his career.

Yesterday, Cousins blew Rodgers out of the water. Drives that end in FGs are not the mark of an elite QB.
