Six months after the Vikings opened their new corporate offices in Eagan, the team’s owners are proposing another big project on the 200-acre headquarters campus: a 14-story, four-star hotel and conference center.
MV Ventures — an entity related to Vikings owners Zygi, Mark and Leonard Wilf — has submitted an application to the city of Eagan for the 320-room hotel and conference center, which could be open in summer 2020. The campus is in the southeast quadrant of Interstate 494 and Dodd Road.
Designed by Minneapolis-based ESG Architects, the project includes a 5,000-square-foot event center with 30-foot ceilings. In addition, it will offer 18,000 square feet meeting space, including an 8,500-square-foot ballroom with seating for 600, a “junior ballroom” and multiple board rooms.
Planned amenities include a steam room, sauna and a cold-plunge pool, as well as a restaurant, rooftop bar and lounge and retail shops. Nearly 670 surface parking and underground parking spaces are also in the plan.
