The 49ers spent most the preseason playing without running back Jerick McKinnon and it looks like he may be missing some of the regular season as well.
According to multiple reports, McKinnon suffered an injury during a team workout on Saturday. The exact nature of the injury isn’t known at this time, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media called it “concerning” and General Manager John Lynch is expected to speak to reporters once the team’s cuts to 53 players are in.

The 49ers announced roster moves to get to 53 players on Saturday, but it appears they’ll need to make another one pretty soon.
Running back Jerick McKinnon was injured during a Saturday workout and head coach Kyle Shanahan said a short time later that McKinnon hurt his knee. Shanahan also said that the team fears it is a season-ending ACL injury.

That's rough for him. I was looking forward to our D shutting him down, but he finally got his chance to be the lead back and then tears his ACL. Tough break for him.

I was afraid that he wouldn’t be able stand up for the season, thought he’d make it out of the preseason though...

That’s too bad about McKinnon. i think SF overpaid for him but good for Jet. At least he got paid before tearing his ACL.

Just horrible this happened on the last play of practice yesterday just before the first game of the year. I hate injuries in the NFL

Wow, really?

Sad for Jet.  Liked him as a player and person.  Played with plenty of heart.
