So....what caused the interest so late as last night?
Cuz he was made available yesterday afternoon? Or were you thinking Rick had a late night craving and got a bright idea?
lol, wasn't he cut 2+ days ago? I thought the Raiders had reached out 2 days ago, I could be wrong. Rick's late night cravings probably are whey protein shakes looking at the dude and his gun show. :o

Read on nfl.Com it's a one year deal so probably on the cheap
Although I like this development and think both Iloka and Zimmer would like to see it continue beyond 2018, this is smart for the Vikings. There is always a chance Cincy released him due to some legitimate concern, like health or declining play, so we can audition him for the year.

I guess that means that Iloka is the LB depth we were looking for.
Yeah, it was Sunday:
"Ilkoa says he's moved past the shock that came with finding out the Bengals cut him, which occurred via phone call from his agent Ron Slavin when he was sitting down to eat with his wife on Sunday: "That’s the business. That’s what we kind sign up for. Things happen. End of the day you’re just a number for the most part. ... I thank Cincinnati for the opportunity they gave me. Unfortunately it couldn’t work out. Wish it would’ve turned out differently in terms of how they released me. I’m not dwelling on that now. I’m in a good situation here. I’m where I’m wanted. I’m where I want to be. I’m ready to help this team out however I can."

I like the way Zim thinks. When talking about LB depth, he said there is more than one way to look at it. Then we sign GI. So, yes, this could bump Sendejo out of a starting job, but also go to a heavy nickle or dime package.
Iloka ignored 3-4 other teams who were reportedly interested and had starting roles available to come here. Yes, it's a great chance to win, and he loves Zimmer, but would he really sign without an expectation of starting? Nonsense.

exactly, a one year deal in minny does nothing for his value next year if he doesnt play a ton.

3rd down. Passing down.
Barr drops to RE
Griff slides over to DT
Richardson and Hunter man their positions
Harry steps down into the box as a LB next to Kendricks
Rhodes-Waynes-Hughes locked on their man
Dejo and Iloka man the centerfield
Yikes, especially for a team that forces a lot of 3rd and long
Swap Barr and Hunter...has Zim has mentioned putting four CBs in at points...I can Iloka in the box and Smith feel presnap, then at the last second they flip positions...or you've got Hunter, Barr, Griffen, B Rob, Smith, and Kendricks all killing around the LOS in a two point...

well what was your favorite Andrew Sendejo moment?
The one when he speared somebody...
Given the time crunch between now and the start of the season, Iloka's familiarity with Zimmer's scheme was a big part of why he chose to sign with the Vikings on a one-year deal. A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the deal was for the veteran's minimum -- $790,000, plus $90,000 to sign.

Dirt cheap. Pretty amazing, really.
