One other plus on Robisons corner is the uncertainty with Griff, is the foot good to go? What's up with this leg injury? Could easily kick Hunter to the RDE and insert BROB and see minimal drop off.

I think all three will make the roster.
Robison is safe.
I though Sherels was toast but he is still the best punt returner on the team.
I still think Newman has value in his flexibility to play all the positions of the secondary. He might be the closest to being cut just because of the talent of the whole unit, but Hill doesn't appear to be ready.

There's room on the squad for 2 of them. Why cut a leader with proven production that includes last year to keep an extra lottery ticket that may turn into something down the road?

All true and probably correct that Robison remains this year. But Zimmer needs to start phasing him out and rotating some of the younger guys in, THIS YEAR, to find out if any of them can play - or if we need to draft a DE #1 next spring.
It's hard, because I think that Robison is a leader and his experience is incredibly valuable. He's also demonstrated that he can adapt his game and find new ways to contribute, like being used in double A gap packages. I think he's earned one final season, but I also recognize that we have better talent pushing him than in the past. Guys like Weatherly, Bower, Odenigbo, and Holmes have all stood out at moments. Not sure if you can rely on any of them as much as Robison against the run, which may be the deciding factor.
As for Newman, I think he's still an effective player and his versatility to be able to line up at slot, safety, and outside corner is nice to have. He's also another case where his experience is valuable. Starting to slow down, but I think he has enough for one more run. You do have some guys like Richardson and Hill that could push him. With Hill, I think he needs more time, but the question becomes whether they can sneak him onto the PS, which may be difficult.
As for Sherels, his nickname is the cockroach for a reason. Every season I expect him to be cut, but he's a reliable punt returner, plays well on coverage units, and the coaches seem to trust him on the field as a 4th or 5th corner. I don't think that Hughes has shown enough as a punt returner for them to be comfortable to rely on him, but if Beebe proves himself worthy of the punt returner job, then that could be a different story.
Hard to balance experience with the young talent coming up, but I hope that they can hold onto some of the experience guys for one last season.
