Never mind, I see we released him at the start of last season...

Couple surprises to me. Jaleel Johnson back at NT instead of 3T. And Odenigbo at 3T. Also Eric Wilson at WLB instead of backing up Barr. He can play both I'm sure, but I wonder if he might be installed there to give Gedeon some competition. He certainly seems better suited there since he's one of those hybrid, former safety types. A Telvin Smith type.

According to reports, Eric Wilson is have a GREAT camp. And if you've seen Wilson lately, he's built like a brick shithouse now....looks nothing like a big safety. Totally like a NFL LB. If you can look up a pic of him in TC, you'll be shocked I think.

I haven't seen a picture, but there was a nice buzz about him last year. Ran a 4.53 at his pro day and has said he's run in the 4.4s. I like Gedeon's instincts but that could be a real competition brewing with the faster Wilson maybe a little better in pursuit and in coverage.

Wilson is making the most of his opportunities at camp and he looks much different than last season. I was a bit shocked the first time I saw him. I was like whoa dude. A brick shithouse is an accurate description.

Wilson is reportedly up to 235 this year.  I just looked up a picture of him from Training Camp this year...  Wow.  Dude is ripped up.

  1. Odenigbo at UT: This is kind of intriguing, because I thought he was going to have trouble making the roster as a DE, and his ability to penetrate could be much more impressive on the inside. But...he weighed 258 when drafted and that's the weight he is listed at now - that's so light it makes Tom Johnson seem like The Fridge. Can he play UT that light? Is this just a last-ditch shot for him to make the team?
  2. Jalyn Holmes: I thought he would be #2 at UT. But it's early, and this is no doubt related to #1.
  3. Aviante Collins backup at LT: He's fine there, but I thought he would get a chance to battle Hill for RT, and let O'Neill learn LT.
  4. WLB: Perfect spot for Eric Wilson; bulked up or not, he's small to play the strong side. Ben Gedeon, OTOH, could backup both OLB spots.
  5. Backup MLB: Is DeVante Downs healthy and practicing? IMO he could replace Kentrell Brothers if so.
  6. Kicker: I see there is a / between Forbath and Carlson, not a comma - so they are already rated equal.
