Aaron Rodgers says he's trying to move past Barr hit, but ...The hit that knocked out Rodgers for most of the 2017 season is still in his head, and will be a major story line when the Vikings play at Green Bay in September.
King then asked Rodgers if he considers it over. Rodgers said: “I do.”
That’s probably wishful thinking. It’s still clearly in Rodgers’ head, otherwise he would have stopped at the first sentence. It will be a major story line when the Vikings play at Lambeau Field in Week 2.
The second item of note: Rodgers will turn 35 this season. By QB standards, that’s not over-the-hill. But Rodgers’ scrambling, unscripted style could make him more vulnerable to slippage sooner than others. So how long does he want to play and think he can be effective? Rodgers says he wants to play until age 40 and to be able to keep the same style until then.
“To be able to move the same way at 38, 39, 40 would be cool. That’s my aim,” he said.
Will that all be with the Packers?
He said he’d “like to” play his career entirely for Green Bay. “But I think in my time there, I realize no one is above the team. They can trade Brett Favre, Jordy Nelson. They can not re-sign a Charles Woodson or Julius Peppers. They make decisions that are in the best interest of the team. It could be me at some point. You have to be humble enough to realize that, and I do. I’d love to be able to …
“How many guys get to actually pick the way and the team how they go out? You know? Hardly anybody. You have to understand that’s a real possibility. But yeah, my dream situation would be to stay in Green Bay.”
Food for thought. I think Rodgers will be back as good as new this year. But the point in the distance where he will start to slip … or he might not even be with the Packers? That point is getting closer.

why is a clean football play still getting press?  this is stupid as hell and if a year old perfectly clean football play is all there is to talk about in green bay heading into training camp then that franchise really has nothing going for them.

Because it's Rodgers and it was against the Vikings. Rodgers is going to milk this for all it's worth. He is going to continue to whine and be butt hurt, that's just the way he is. Always has been, always will be. Cry me a river, build a bridge and get the fuck over it already. But no, this will be hyped up like crazy before the next time the Vikings play the puke. And those classless fans will be wishing injury on Barr on Twitter again because that's who they are. Fuck the Packers and their fans.

Good news.  I'm hoping that hit stays in his head for at least another decade or so.

With Rodgers and then add in all the media surrounding this...you got a whole football year of drama.  Injuries are part of football life.  Seems the media always make the exceptions for guys like Rodgers and Brady, the hands-off guys.

Yup.  Any other QB...except for maybe Rapelesberger...and the NFL talking heads and media elite could give a crap.  But not their "golden children".

Barr needs to milk this as well.  Like walking up to the line and saying "Boo!"  Or have a defensive hand signal like snapping a branch.  Have EK say "watch 12 on bootleg"  and Barr answer with "I got him."

Dude might just pee himself right then and there.

Working the press hoping to line up the refs to buy a little extra protection for any touches in the real season
