Former Vikings QB is trying to land on Panthershttps://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2018/06/21/former-vikings-qb-is-trying-to-land-on-panthers/
I wonder what happened with Charles Johnson in Minnesota? Norv seemed to love him and it appeared he was going to prosper as a Viking. Then just poof, lessening production and then gone. Has to be more to the story as he's done nothing since one ok year in Minnesota 2014, then just limped along for 2 more years and out.

Taylor had a fateful day that changed the course of his career: kicking in that glass door and sustaining the injury. He was on course and going to be allowed to compete legitimately for the #2 spot at QB with Minnesota that upcoming training camp. Coaches said he was the favorite. And then the self obtained injury. I wonder if that keeps him up at night at times? I don't know how it doesn't.

Imagine how different last year would have been if he hadn't kicked that glass...he would likely have been an established #2 and a fair chance Case never gets signed or at least a fair look.

I'm imagining we would have been able to draft Mike McGlinchey this year if Heinicke, not Keenum, had been our QB most of last season..
Never quite got the Heinicke hype. He was on track to possibly be a decent backup, but he wasn't the future.
As to CJ, I had hope he would turn into a solid WR, but I think he always seemed to have injuries bothering him. Wonder about his dedication to training.

well that would have been nice, but I dont think I would have traded any solid season for a crappy one for the chance to draft a player... we likely would have screwed it up anyway and taken some random guy that would end up failing a piss test or 3.

That ("we would have screwed up anyway") is a bit cynical, even for my perspective..
I wouldn't trade those 14 wins last year for McGlinchey, either. My point was that we would have had another lost season with Heinicke, IMO. If he's as good as many people here believed, he'll be on a roster this fall. Let's see.
