Let's go!:
25 Offense
QB: Cousins, Siemian, Sloter
RB: Cook, Murray, Boone/Brown/Thomas (Can't decide yet)
FB: Ham
TE: Rudolph, Morgan, Bell, Conklin
WR: Thielen, Diggs, Treadwell, Wright, Coley
OT: Reiff, Hill, O'Nelll, Collins
C: Elflein
OG: Remmers, Easton, Isidora, Compton/Gossett (Can't decide)
I'm guessing with 4 TE, they only need 5 WR. If they go with 6 WR, I'm guessing Ham's the odd man out.
25 Defense
NT: Joseph, Parry
3T: Richardson, Johnson, Holmes
DE: Griffen, Hunter, Robison, Weatherly, Odenigbo, Bower
LB: Barr, Kendricks, Gedeon, Wilson, Brothers (Downs/Dooley for first four weeks)
CB: Rhodes, Waynes, Hughes, Alexander, Newman, Hill
S: Smith, Sendejo, Kearse Harris (see discussion below)
I'll guess that they'll go with 6 DE and 3 S. They need depth at DE, and they can use Newman as a swing CB/S. (BTW -- I F'ing LOVE our interior DL.)
3 ST
McDermott, Quigley, Carlson
Discuss.
they get to carry 90 until late training camp.... you dont have to cut to 53 until late august iirc.

I think he meant it was his take on the final 53 from his post minicamp view.
I do think Newman offers some flexibility in the DBs. Also, watching some of the defensive movement last year, I think our DBs are getting comfortable playing multiple spots. I remember one breakdown that had Newman or Rhodes dropping into safety coverage with one of the safeties rolling up and playing coverage.

not sure if you saw it or not, but Newman was taking snaps this week at safety with Dejo out.

Yes, and I see that as a reason he probably is a lock as long as he hasn't lost a step or 2. His position flexibility makes our D that much more versatile. With Barr, Harrison, Robison and Newman all able to move around and play different positions, Zim can really get creative.
You are missing Anthony Harris he WILL be on the team, he may even beat out Sendejo...

I still think we need that big S that can come up and fill a LB roll to give more of a hybrid look to our nickle packages against teams with the more diverse RBs.

Good point. Not sure if he beats out Sendejo or not, but he was the one called on to fill that spot when Sendejo was out.

If he plays close to what Sendejo does, dont be surprised they start Harris and possibly cut Sendejo... every team has that one surprise cut.... the team would save close to 4mil if he is cut
