Don't you love watching a QB throw-open a WR?

I'm not buying that was an overthrow that Diggs bailed KC out on...

That was my favorite play of the night.

that throw was sick. The route was sick.

That's a really tough play to make. Diggs ran to the DBs outside shoulder off the line. The DB turns his hips outside. As soon as the DB engages to press, Diggs take his route to the DBs inside shoulder. The DB flips his hips inside to continue the press and to run with Diggs in coverage. As soon as the DB flips, which was 5-6 yards down field, Diggs stops and breaks back outside down the field. - A stop and go - The defensive back has to again flip his hips outside to run with Diggs. The ball is already in the air!

Sick route, incredible timing. Incredible throw. Incredible catch.

The preseason is full of QBs who can't hit guys running a straight line of the line of scrimmage in stride. Cousins timed it perfect, threw it perfect, Diggs ran right by the guy after turning him around twice. That's pretty good stuff. A great route runner is limited to the QB's ability to take advantage of it; Cousins killed it on that throw.

what makes it even more impressive to me is that it looked like KC had progressed to Thielen on the cross and then came back to Diggsie as his #1 read

Kirk is a better arm talent than Case Keenum and you can see it on that throw.

I agree.  He made a similar throw against the Vikings last year that went for a TD.
Play starts at 0:23.

Cousins has an excellent arm. I’ve always known that but the accuracy last night was exceptional. That’s a sick throw. First off, not everyone can hit a dinner plate target 30 yards from the QB. Secondly, to time it perfectly to such a route is extremely difficult. Only a handful of guys can regularly do that. It was very limited time but I find it undeniable at least to me that Cousins has the ability to be a top flight franchise QB. Add a solid run game to this guy and we are going to drop a lot of points on some teams.

Cousins will THROW the receiver OPEN. That does not happen to much in the league.
