We aren't talking about allergies....or the ethics of Pharma....we're talking about freaking vaccines. A tried and true method of basically saving humanity from pandemic diseases and ensuring future generations of such. But now we have the internet so some parents 'know better'. Give me a break. Its a rabbit hole of idiocy to try and debate vaccines online. Its not a debate, its a proven and highly effective medicinal methodology.

Its so ridiculous.
Every single post you've made in this thread is declaring how stupid people are if they don't agree with you.  Do you think that telling people how stupid they are has any value to society?
It's not agreement with "me" (or whoever) that is the issue here; it's agreement with the preponderance of the evidence. I'm not an astrophysicist, nor have I ever been to space and seen the earth with my own two eyes, but I feel pretty confident that the earth is round based on what scientists have said. Like the argument between round earthers and flat earthers, there is not a huge number of people on both sides of the climate and vaccination issues either. There is a vast majority on one side (typically represented by experts in the field who have studied the issue) and a small minority on the other (typically represented by conspiratorial types and those who stand to gain financially by casting doubt).
My main point that I've been trying to drive home here isn't about who's right and who's wrong.  It's about people who don't actually know anything, who are so convinced that what they've been told is right that they feel like they can insult other people and close their minds to all new information, and because the only way they can communicate is through insults it stifles communication, creates unnecessary divisions in society and prevents progress.  The people who make the most progress for society are those who don't conform.  Science is littered with great people that were discredited or locked up or their work ruined because they didn't conform with the "vast majority" only to be found to be correct once the "vast majority" died and the more open minded young took a closer look.  The truth doesn't need any help.  The truth becomes self-apparent when facts are presented in a cohesive manner.  Name calling and insults are tactics for the people who don't have truth on their side, because they want to "win" but don't know truth.  We're all on the same side.  We want to do what's best for ourselves and others.
But aren't YOU the one who is closing his mind? MY point is that I don't know the answer. I'm just a guy. I'm not a climate scientist or a doctor or an astrophysicist or a car mechanic. Just like you, I suspect, I'm someone who relies on experts in their field to help me make decisions in areas I know nothing about. Trusting experts in their field is how the world works. It's why we have cabinet members and secretaries of state and defense, etc. We trust these people to advise us on matters we're not qualified to make judgments on.

Like I said before, if I take my car to 100 mechanics and 97 of them tell me my brakes are shot, it's damned stupid of me to side with the 3 who disagree and put everyone's life at risk by continuing to drive that car. But that's basically what you're doing. You're basically saying "all you folks who study this stuff for a living don't know shit." And yet you call those who defer to the experts arrogant and closed minded. I think you've got it backwards there.
The brake analogy doesn't work.  GW theories can't be fully tested using scientific method, so they are models or speculation.  And as I pointed out, vaccines aren't tested as they are used.  Can't test on children and infants and the tests isolate them one by one.  So we have no scientific proof that giving an infant 8 shots is safe.  The only proof we have is long term results in the population.  And the results aren't that promising right now.

All I am saying is that we should have the choice.  We should have some transparency in how they are made, some competition, and some responsibility on the maker.  Right now we have none of that.  Pharmaceuticals are protected by the National Child Vaccine Injury Act.  The federal vaccine injury compensation program actually handles the payments when a child is injured and has paid out nearly 4 billion.

So the taxpayers help fund the vaccines, and then are responsible for the bill if they cause an injury.  Nice work if you can get it.
Unreal. Of all things to have an issue with. #$%^ing vaccines. I'd laugh if it wasn't so stupid.

I have no time for people who are so blatantly ignorant.
Just want to take a moment to say how enlightened you are.

Take some time and pat yourself on the back for not being ignorant.
Im glad you saw it my way.

Some things we're just not qualified to comment on. It's like taking your car to 100 mechanics. 97 of them say that your brakes are shot. You better have a pretty good reason why you believe the 3 before you put my kids in your car.
im more worried about the idiot who listened to the three mechanics and then ran my kids over then about your kids personally.  its these jackass youtube moms with no scientific evidence scaring people that piss me off.

i wouldnt want forced vacinations but there better be a damn good reason. my wife for instance is alergic to one of the preservatives and thus needed to get the vacines through a different means. that didnt mean she didnt get vacinated. it just means extra care and an alternate version was used.

the facts are that the terrible diseases we vacinate against are so so so so significantly more deadly then any dangers that the vacines themselves pose that it is imoral to not vacinate your kids.

There are innocent children dying from preventable diseases while you dither over not saying that some people are wrong.

Im not, just this issue especially pisses me off.  Humanity solved many of these devastating diseases yet the internet and one jackass doctor who put out a faulty report about links to autism has put peoples children in danger by intentionally playing on parent fears.  There is as much link between autism and vaccines as there is breathing air and vaccines.  Or the Vikings wining the superbowl and vaccines.  Its just complete and utter nonsense.

Interesting discussion on a Vikings site, lol.   All I know now days is that I don't know.  Big business is all about cutting costs at all costs.  There are many types of vaccines.  Anyone here saying vaccines are tried and true and it is idiotic not to vaccine know if any of the vaccines have changed ingredients/make-up over the years?  I sure don't.

It's pretty rare for me to "know" 100%...  Hey, this asbestos stuff is great for buildings, yeah, let's put it everywhere.  Hey, this fake sugar replacement stuff we can put in soda and everything else is so healthy for us!  Hey, let's put ground up rubber on this soccer field in place of dirt and let kids roll around in it, no one has proven it isn't bad for anyone...

I don't know that vaccines are bad for people, but I also know to not trust blindly.  Ive vaccinated my kids because I think the pros outweigh any odds of something bad happening, but no way I'm going to preach that it's 100% safe, idiotic if you don't and that science has proven it.

exactly,  IMO the idiots are the people that blindly follow anything with out a little research on their own.  If these parents have a legit concern that can be tied to their own childrens health such as allergies or other its one thing to say no,  but for some to say "we are pregnant"  and "we wont vaccinate"  IMO that is absolutely reckless.  But for people to say that they would question the need and look into it before blindly going along with it... that is being a good parent,   and anyone saying otherwise are the idiots.

Good to see you stopping by.... you still get out to an annual road game?

When it comes to vaccines, of course. Are you kidding?? We aren't talking the preference of chocolate ice cream to vanilla here. Every single post there is that discusses not vaccinating your kids is idiotic. You can paint with a brush that wide on this topic. As I said, there is no 'other' side to this. There is zero value being polite on this subject.
All hail!  The King Sticky has spoken.

Zero value in arguing with an idiotic stance such as this arrogance.
What i dont understand is why people who have vaccinated their children are scared of an unvaccinated child? This internet community thing is so confusing. We get to rip each other  apart with no real consequence

Hey man, no matter what any of these guys say, you're one of the good ones!  Smile    It's been a few years since I've been able to do a roadie, just bad luck/timing for me personally, but I keep trying.  My last game anywhere was 2 years ago, in MN, bringing my 97 year old grandma to her first game.  Last year was gonna go to Pittsburgh then had to bail at last minute.  Bought plane ticket for Super Bowl weekend the Wednesday night before we lost to Philly.  Sad    Planned on going to Los Angeles this year but that game is the week I need to fly to MN.  So... no home game, AND I miss my road game.  Crap luck continues...   lol

At least I am extending my MN trip early so I can bring the family to the Bills home game.  My kids are looking forward to their first Vikings game.  Somehow I've kept them from being Seahawks fans!?!  lol
