Maybe Hill has gotten better since last year. Why write him off so soon?
He might be young- and improving. And I think he will do fine as a short-term "fill-in" (the world needs ditch-diggers, too). But I thought Remmers was the much better RT last year.
Sure, Remmers was better at RT. But I don't think he would've held up much better than Hill did in those playoff games. The bottom line is that Hill still has some upside. And the Vikings obviously WANT him to win the RT position. It will be the best five. The Vikings just have to figure out whether they're better with a Remmers-Hill combo or a Compton/Isadora - Remmers combo. And that may not be determined until September.

Facing Jordan may have left a different impression of Remmers. As much as I hated the shuffle for the playoff game, that is what injuries do.
As to Remmers actually being better, I remember him missing 4-6 weeks in the middle of the season, so memory may be selective there.

You might be right. I will certainly have to acknowledge that the coaching staff knows more than I do.

uh, correctamundo. Hill had a rough patch at the end of the season and playoffs, he played very well before that. The coaches saw this too. It doesn't matter what we fans think, that's for sure.
We wouldn't be having this conversation if we had just picked Will Hernandez in the first round. Just sayin.......

Nope...we would be arguing about why we took a man blocking guard in the first round for a zone scheme.

Probably. But then the Giants should have the same questions since Shurmur will almost certainly employ a lot of the same zone runs he used in Minnesota. Personally, I think Hernandez might be "best" in a power scheme, but he can also move really well. I don't think he's limited to power schemes at all, which is probably good since their new back, Saquon Barkley, is a very good outside zone runner.

point was, there was no perfect answer after the 3 that we all seemed to agree on. Rick followed his board and draft experience, if they didnt have the guy rated as high for what ever reason then I am cool with it... and no matter who they took when there was likely to be arguments.

Not if everyone would just agree with me...
