Thoughts and prayers go out to your son and your family.  It's tough.  Been there as a parent.  It's a helpless feeling.

OMG, not anything any parent wants to hear... My thoughts and prayers are with you and your son. May God help him and be there for both of you

Really is a helpless feeling.  My wife and I have been dealing with a depressed/mentally ill daughter for about 3 years now and it is a roller coaster of emotions along with helplessness.  That said, we have her in intensive talk-therapy and constant tweaking of meds.  Her episodes have really decreased from pretty much daily to maybe a few times a month so we are on the right track with a light at the end of the tunnel.  

Hang in there VG, it really knocks you off your feet with a feeling of desperation.  My daughter is 21 now and did suffer from severe migraines up until her early teens that seem to go away after all the hormonal changes around 17.  She had a breakdown as a Freshmen at college and we had to go pull her out and bring her home to commute to a local college and limit courses.  She was top of her class and now has zero interest in education.  Such a shocking and sad situation to watch your child suffer so much but wanted to offer a ray of hope because my daughter has really been responding to the therapy and various drug treatments through trial and error.  I know every parent adores their child but she has always been such a sweetheart, kind and caring and it just breaks your heart.

Thoughts and prayers going out VG, I know all too well how it is to have the worst happen and I pray you do not have to go through it.  I am glad he is fighting this and hope he is able to conquer it. Let him know we are all praying for him and you.

Thank you. I know you do. It breaks my heart that you know the worst. I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray for strength for you. Love and light.

A box of straight razors came in the mail for him yesterday along with a psychiatric referral. He can have the referral but we'll skip the razors. I have been cleaning to keep busy. Going through my family history with the nurse is reinforcing how prevalent some of these issues are. Some cousins are checking in with him to support and share their experiences. My sister that is a doctor is checking in with the neurologist and the hospital. I am so grateful for all the support. I am going to a support group tomorrow. Hanging on with everything I've got. I am trying everything I think of. I hope to check in with him soon.
