Prayers for my son
#31
My prayers are with you, VG.

My Mom attempted suicide prior to being diagnosed with both depression and migraines.

Sounds like he is now at least getting the specific care he needs.

All the best to you and your son.

Peace

As a father with a depressed child, this is the worst fear.  My prayers are with you.

The fact that he called his neurologist was a blessing and an intent to live.
It is absolutely the worst nightmare. But there is a sign of hope and strength. He reached out. The fact that he did shows he is still fighting. He has chronic migraines and chronic insomnia. It's pretty fucking brutal. We were about to try botox because none of the other medications work. I am praying with the concentrated care they get a better handle on his sleep. So much pain and lack of sleep are an overwhelming combination to deal with. I am hoping the best for your child as well. I send you positivity and love.
Much appreciated.  She just finished her 3rd semester of college - she thinks with 3.8.  Now has over 90 credits ... So one year left for bachelors degree.  In psychology.  Wants to help children.

My son ... couldn't be prouder.  Looking at Columbia, Yale or Naval Academy.  Cornell looks like his last resort.

Just read FDA just approved a new drug for Migraines first drug that prevents them.

A bit of an update. So I talked to him today twice. The first time, I let him know that I support him and love him. I reinforced that I was so proud of him for calling his neurologist. I am so grateful that he trusts her to do that. The second time, we talked about Harry Potter because they were watching it. It brought back memories of simpler times. And we talked about hockey and basketball because playoffs. I am just trying to take it day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. That's all I can do. Plus he is an adult now and as a mom, I am recognizing that I have to continue to step back and give him space. I can support and encourage him but I have to hang on to hope. H.O.P.E=Hang On Pain Ends.
