B-Rob back!

No mention of his taking a pay cut, so hopefully the initial report of that months ago was wrong.

Welcome back Brian!
News of that will probably come later. It was a deep cut. If there was ever any
question as to his need or desire to make more money over his loyalty to this team and his love of this game it should be put to rest. After a long conversation with him
I realized he chose to return  because he truly has been where he's always wanted to be. This may and probably will be his last chance to complete some unfinished business.

Mad respect for him, he's gone above and beyond with his loyalty to this team.  I hope he can ride off into the sunset with a big gaudy ring...

At least it doesn't present the same image as Phat Pat walking off into the sunset.....
Vikings Pro Bowl defensive tackle Pat Williams is signed through next season. But he said today that he would "go into the sunset smiling" if the Vikings win a Super Bowl this season. "That's how you want to end," said Williams, who is 37 years old. Williams is due to make $4.25 million next season. But he said he would walk away from that. "It doesn't matter," he said. "That's all I want. That trophy." In fact, Williams has thought so much about it that he's already got a game plan. "I'm walking off the field with my tights on, because I'm throwing everything to the fans," he said. "Shoulder pads. Helmet. Everything. Walking off in tights and socks." Williams missed the final two games last season with a shoulder injury, and he got off to a somewhat slow start this season after minor offseason surgery. But Williams has racked up two sacks and eight tackles for loss, which is tied for second-most on the team. "I always got banged up. But now, I just smell that trophy getting close,

again I ask,  why is Rick forcing vets to take pay cuts when the team is still well below the cap?  I hate the fucking business side of this bull shit and the fuckers that run it (agents and GMs)....

"hey you are old, still playing at a respectable level, and been really fucking loyal... why dont you bend over one last time and let ol Rick stick it in you?"

Damnit Pops, this really pisses me off after they worked him over last year.  Its been no secret that this coming year was going to be his intended final year for several years now, if they intended to screw him over they should have made it clear last year so he could have played the market a bit.

Even if there were no “Fuckers” that ran it & Zero money involved, there would still be disagreements on who got picked for what team on the sand lot.
Hey, I wish the kid from the culinary institute was still playing, but the “Fuckers” eventually decided his time was up too.
99.9 % of the Earths population would love to have this problem to grumble about today.
They made an offer, it was accepted. Everyone should be happy.
Now, let’s accomplish the goal !

you go to work for some place your entire career,  same place, always bust your ass and you are 1 year away from retirement and they come and tell you that your services are no longer needed unless you agree to work for much less than what you are currently making.... you decide then how just the system is.  I can see screwing around with fringe players or guys that you picked up as free agents along the way,  but guys like BRob have exemplified what we want out of our players and he has done it for over a decade,  that deserves respect and he didnt get it.  so yes... fuckers.

OK, so let’s say the Viking Org is pure evil, top to bottom mean fucks !
Why not be insulted and go across the river and sign for untold riches and seek revenge ?
This pay to play “scheme” was in place when he signed and decades before.

Gotta go...visiting a friend with bladder cancer, someone with a real beef about life...
Ciao !

I tend to agree with Maple on this one. Love B-Rob, but this team is now in a position where it has to (and will continue to have to) make some tough decisions. I'm just relieved that they can work something out and that Brian is back in our rotation. I'm super excited about Aruna and Holmes, but we're going to need his veteran leadership at crunch time. And he seems to be such a great locker room presence.

Agreed.  Glad he is coming back and look forward to seeing him one more year.  But shit, you are spot on with your quote Jimmy.
