6'7", 370 lb marvel who can move and is in the 8th grade...

Once he's done at the elliptical, Goodwin comfortably leg-presses more than 1,000 pounds. He then bench-presses 315 pounds with a little assistance from his coach. A collection of players and coaches gather around as the weight increases.
Much of this is new to Goodwin, who has lifted weights for only three months. "I expect him to be every bit of a 500-pound bench-presser by the time he gets out of high school," Vaughn says. "He has that kind of strength."
After lifting, Goodwin and a handful of other linemen work on footwork and blocking. Of all his gifts, his ability to deftly carry 370 pounds is most staggering. His weight is evenly distributed. He's well-coordinated and moves naturally.

Amazing story, but what's more amazing is the kind of person this young man is. I really hope that the gym owner and his mom can keep the wolves at bay and allow this kid to keep being a kid for a few more years. It sounds like he has a bright future whether or not he ever plays football.

That's unreal. He is not only athletically gifted but he is intelligent and well-rounded. Whatever life brings his ways, he will have options. His future looks bright.

Decades ago when I was in 8th grade, we had someone who could rival 6'7" and 370.  Of course, he'd been held back more times than he advanced...But at least I wasn't the only 8th grader who could grow a beard.  My excuse, though, was that I started shaving at 12 years old.

They project a potential of being 7'10" in the article - Good Lord that is so tall - perhaps too tall for pro football. Even if he does not reach that height, he will probably be at least 7' tall. Instead of football - he could be the next Shaquille O'Neal and play in the NBA. But then theres the fact that the NBA does not play that game like the old days where a big man was the most important piece of a NBA team, now its a stud 3-point shooter.
