No real "who's the starter" position battles?

Except for the unknown, the starting roster is pretty dang set.

Maybe RT or Kicker...

RT unless Hill fails, of Nickel corner could be up for grabs? we have more corners than most teams could dream of?

Not starting positions but 3rd WR. And will Conklin be the 2nd TE when they go 2 TEs?

RT is probably still not set as more hopefully set. Unless you heard something I haven't I believe kicker is set. If not yet publicly stated. At this point in Zimmer's tenure he should have his roster mostly established. Then only yearly tweaking is necessary. Sadly the way of the NFL coaches rarely get to rebuild a 2nd time. Even if they've won. It's what have you done lately too often. His roster is as deep and talented as any I remember. His time to execute his vision is now.

Yeah, it's really a testament to how well Zimmer and Spielman have constructed this roster since he's been here.  Very few weak starters...  And our weakest starters are mostly league average players.

Its all about how good a talented team's depth is in the NFL. Because injuries happen and how a team can manage those is everything.

I think a lot of teams would be pretty optimistic about the season if they had 3rd year 2nd rounder Mack Alexander and 1st round rookie Mike Hughes pegged as starters. It's nuts how stacked this secondary is. And then you think about a guy like Holton Hill. What if he turns out?

I honestly don't see any among the starters. RT is Hill's to lose, so I don't see that as a competition. Vikings might be calling the battle at kicker a competition, but it's not.

All the interesting competitions are in the depth. Who's the 3rd receiver, the 3rd back, 3rd corner, 3rd and 4th edge rusher, 3rd and 4th tackle, 2nd and 3rd TE.

I think the Vikes need to bolster the LB crew... Ben Gedeon played well enough especially being a rookie, but I hope he can take a 2nd year leap forward.  The backups are a worry, and also knowing Barr isn't locked up.  I'm not sold that the team will pay big money on him.

For me, biggest question is how many TEs they want to have on the roster.  If they want 4, they have to eliminate the FB or go with 5 WR.  Or maybe Ham becomes a HB?  All depends upon the needs of the scheme.

Second biggest question is pass rushers.  We potentially have J. Holmes and Robison as interior pass rush specialists.  Do we really need two, with two quality 3T players ahead of them in Richardson and Jaleel Johnson?
