At Auburn, kicker Daniel Carlson made 90 percent of field goals from 39 yards and closer, per NFL. #Vikings missed NFL-high five extra points last year.
Kai Forbath with Vikings 0-39 yards: 30-32 for 93.7%.

So we traded up for a kicker who likely won't be any more accurate than Forbath. He'd better turn every KO into a touchback.
he missed 5 extra points last year 34 for 39 from 33 yards which is 87.2%

I heard a report last week that the league will be discussing eliminating the kick offs at the next round of owners meetings.  Also something about college allowing kickoffs to be fair caught and take the ball at the 25.  I think these ideas suck ass personally.

“Obviously Minnesota is indoors which will help a lot, but I made quite a few kicks from 50-plus yards over the years,’’ Carlson said. “During private workouts, we’ve backed it up to 65 yards and made those. Kicking in Colorado, which is where I’ve been for the draft the last few days, with the altitude here I was hitting from 75 yards.’’

But can he kick an extra point?  Can the XP become a non issue drink break play again?

Wow, that is amazing, but the PAT in the NFL is now a 33-yard field goal. And he missed one from exactly that distance in the Senior Bowl. Still, he'll be fun to watch. Especially in that first preseason game in Denver. I want to see that 75 yarder!

Did Spielman just decide the only thing wrong with Blair Walsh was he was too short??

23-for-32 on FGs in his senior year scares me. I know 4 of his misses were from 50+, but that's 19-for-24 at less than 50 yards.
