Vikings likely to finish strong but will that be enough to repeat success of 2017?

Jimmy Garopollo, Aaron Rodgers, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz.
That’s a formidable list of NFL quarterbacks and also four of the QBs the Vikings will face in the opening five weeks of the 2018 season as they attempt to defend their NFC North title. The only question is whether Wentz will be back from the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered last December against the Rams.

Last season, the Vikings went 13-3 en route to losing at Philadelphia in the NFC title game. With Wentz out, it was Nick Foles who beat Minnesota as the Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl.
That’s where the Vikings want to get this season and they have made some significant moves, including replacing Case Keenum with high-priced free agent Kirk Cousins at quarterback.
So how will the Vikings do in 2018? With the NFL releasing its schedule on Thursday, let’s take a game-by-game look at what might be ahead for coach Mike Zimmer’s team.

As a fan, I would be disappointed in 10/6. 13/3 will be hard to replicate, but man - I'm setting the bar at home field...

2-2 on the tough road games (LA, Phil, Sea, NE)
Steal one road game vs the Jets
5-1 in the division
Win the rest at home (NO, SF, MIA, BUF, AZ)

13-3
12-4 at worst, which in the stacked NFC, could be enough for a #1 seed

So we dont beat them Rams, Eagles, or New England and can only handle the Saints and GB at home.  At the end of this season I wouldnt have much expectations of winning the NFC let alone the SB.
If we are one of the big boys then we need to take win some of the tougher games.

We just need to draft a secret weapon WR out of Norway.  He's 6'6" runs a 4.2 40 and has played in the Norwegian American Foosball league for a whole year!!!

The end of Patriots run is in sight. Brady and Gronk contemplating retirement. Neither attending off-season workouts. First time in 8 years for Brady. No backup QB. Jimmy G trade  pissed off the coach. There's turmoil there...

...but there was turmoil last year too and they still made it to the Super Bowl, so who knows, but the arrow is definitely pointing down. I think.

History tells us that two good seasons in a row have been rare for the Vikings in modern times. But this should exceed last years accomplishments and appears to be built for a competitive run the next few years, at least. They will need to stay healthy, but the pieces are in place.
