Post Your Best First-Pick
#1
Draft is approaching, no doubt a lot of us are playing around with that or other draft games. We all know they are highly speculative, but all mocks are, right?

My own best (so far):
1, #30: OT Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame: If McGlinchey is there, I think he would be an obvious choice; not an elite LT but very good RT.
2, #30: TE Mike Gesicki, Penn St: Another that was easy when he was available. Move TE who can play all over, nice gift for Cousins.
3, #36: FS Jessie Bates, Wake Forest: A safety that covers like a CB gives us depth across the secondary and a replacement for Sendejo.
(I traded down a bit in the 3rd with Cincinatti and added a 4th-round pick.)
4, #12: WR Deon Cain, Clemson: I would be shocked if he slipped this far but can't resist the chance of getting a fast non-slot WR.
5, #30: CB Parry Nickerson, Tulane: Thin but superfast CB, kind of a poor man's Trae Waynes, to add some depth.
6, #30: RB Phillip Lindsay, Colorado: Only 5-8,190, but fast utility knife to replace Jerrick McKinnon.
6, #39: OG Austin Kuhnert, North Dakota St: Could be a great addition this late, at least for depth at G and C.
6, #42: DT Austin Jones, North Carolina St: NT depth behind Joseph to replace Stephen.
7, #30: CB Darius Phillips, Western Michigan: Kickoff and punt returner who can actually play CB; watch out, Marcus Sherels.

Best first pick would be Bradley Chubb but of the guys that may be there I like Wynn.

I'd like to see a trade back if the OL run happens early or hasn't started at that point.  I'd really like another pick in the top 100 if possible.  It seems the good talent runs to about the early 4th and they need to add some talent as back ups for when they are up against the cap soon.

2nd try, I scored better but I might like the first one better IDK

I'm going with my initial gut, pre-combine of Billy Price, OSU teammate of Elflein at #30

These are kinda fun. I'm always amused by who's available at each pick and the ridiculously favorable trade offers. However, I did one yesterday where McGlinchey was gone, Hernandez was gone, Wynn and Williams were gone...and I sorta had a panic attack. Then I realized that this is probably how it's going to happen. It's like 2016 all over again when we all knew we were going to take a receiver and 3 of 'em went right before our pick. I'm still convinced Treadwell was not the guy we wanted but took him simply because he was the highest rated guy on the board.

Was Billy Price still there?  If so, that would have been my pick.

He was, and that's exactly who I took after trading down and picking up another 3rd. So not bad thanks to the strength of this interior line class.
