That's interesting. Kleinsasser the best 2nd rounder is a little mind blowing.

Interesting to say the least. I love Jimmie...but here are some other 2nd round picks that probably contributed as much or more to the team.
  • Ed White
  • Matt Blair
  • Sammy White
  • Dennis Swilley
  • Orlando Thomas
  • Corey Fuller
  • EJ Henderson
  • Sydney Rice
  • Eric Kendricks
  • Kyle Rudolph
  • Phil Loadholt

sydney rice?  you think he contributed more than Kleinsasser?   no fricking way.  an arguement can likely be made for most of the others, but Rice basically had 1 decent year with the Vikings.

i just went through the list of 2nd round draft choices and listed the names that stuck out to me.  up to you to decide on your importance placed on each.

personally I would have Blair and White as my top 2

Rice was definitely a lesser player, and I'm not sold on Dennis Swilley or EJ Henderson. But the Kleinsasser pick is very weird, likely biased. Matt Blair or Sammy White should have been the pick, and eventually we might say Kendricks.

I'd definitely put Ed White and Matt Blair ahead of Jimmy. And I loved Jimmy. Rudolph is closing in....heck maybe even Sammy White.

Sammy White was the first guy I thought of, then Blair...2nd leading tackler in team history, leader in blocked kicks...definitely put White in front of Jimmy...hell, Jimmy isn't even the best TE we took in the second...

One man's opinion.

1 - Alan Page
2 - Matt Blair (Bobby Bell's spot had he signed most likely).
3 - Fran Tarkenton
4 - Everson Griffin
5 - Ed Sharockman followed closely by Ed McDaniel.
6 - Matt Birk
7 - Bobby Bryant followed closely by Steve Jordan.
8 - Wade Wilson
9 - Scott Studwell
10 - Stu Voigt (had Brad Culpepper played career w/ Vikes possibly his spot).
11 - Charles Evans
12 - Jesse Solomon
13 - Dave Osborn
14 - Jim Hargrove (Howard Twilley's spot had he signed most likely).
15 - Jeff Wright
16 - Neil Graff
17 - Bob Lee
18 - Rich Kotite (though he did not play w/ Vikes).
19 - NADA
20 - Milt Sunde
