99.99% of the time it makes sense... .but just think how freaking exciting it would be for that .01% of the time when that extra point snap is screwed up and the losing team returns it for a win!
(yeah i couldnt think of if ever happening either)

Yeah, they should probably leave it as is IF there's a chance to tie or win with a mess up. If the score is three points or greater it doesn't make a difference and should be eliminated, like the end of the V-S game.

The other team just needed to snap the ball and kneel it, but they were a shotgun formation team and lined up in the shotgun and the center launched the snap. Sadly their QB did recover the ball, but it was exciting at least.

“...Despite a large number of Saints players retiring to their locker room after the improbable comeback by Minnesota, both the Vikings and the Saints had to line up for an extra point which instead ended up as a kneel down.”
Really ? By then I had already started running around outside the house ! =)

Quote: @JimmyinSD said:There isnt even a .01% chance they try for the field goal. They would just kneel on it. And honestly had there ever been a fumble return TD on a kneel down ever in history? I know there was the Miracle at Meadowlands but they ran the ball. I would argue they should make the PAT entirely optional and obviously only time you would opt out of it would be in that situation. The PAT is a award for the TD scoring team. |
