You think Prescott was a 1 year wonder?

Or was last year the anomaly?

And I suspect someone will que-up a Vanguard like "dont care"

Least somebody better if we're talking Cowboys...

Maybe not a one year wonder, but certainly not as good as that rookie season looked. RG3 had a magical rookie year, also. Prescott is now being scouted and gameplanned for, so he's got to improve. With that offensive line and excellent RB, he won't be offered any excuses moving forward.

He reminds me of Russell Wilson. I expect him to have a decent year upcoming.

Like most things Cowboyz, overrated.
At some point, someone will finally say what most think about that organization...Jerruh's football instincts aren't that sharp and the Vikings/Walker deal made their legacy.
Ooops...I guess that was me! Wink

I don't think he's a great QB or the next big thing, but I do think they had the perfect situation around him, but it's hard to keep things perfect and he's not quite there yet, but he'll continue to grow.

He was on my all-underrated list in that draft, but he's not as good as he showed his first year. Guy had the NFL's best offensive line, the NFL's best running back at the time, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant...enough said.

Also keep in mind that Denver really wanted him but took him off their list because he missed his flight to Denver. That led to the Paxton Lynch fiasco, but let's not forget that little nugget. That sort of thing gets glossed over in the heroics of a good rookie season, but whatever caused him to miss a flight for an important interview...is likely still there...

I think Prescott will be an average NFL QB which was about last year.  So yes, I think his rookie year is somewhat of a fluke.  As others have mentioned NFL Defenses adapt and force you to your weaknesses.  That said and he is certainly surrounded by one of the best OL and RB's in the NFL.

I know Sticky mentioned Russel Wilson and I would take Wilson every day over Prescott.  I don't think Prescott has that ceiling.

A couple of other 3rd year QB's

Wentz and Goff can they continue to build on last season?

Also, a couple of other Young"ish" QB's that need a rebound year:  Carr, Marriota and Winston.

Matt Kalil had a probowl under his belt going into yr 2 and sucked the rest of the way out.  Lets hope the same thing happens to Dak.  The Cowboys make the list of teams I want bad stuff to happen to.

i said his rookie year to pump the brakes on the hype.  he has the physical skills and the surroundings to have a great career,  but he was an unknown in an ideal situation.  I think he will have a Romo like career,  he will keep the cowboys relevant,  but never be the guy to carry them over the threshold and win the big one.

Amazing how pedestrian a QB looks without a running game.
