Thanks SD, i would probably pop in time to time. But it may take a while for it to wear off. Brian restructured last year and took a pay cut then to help the team. I was hoping that he could finish here but RS is making it awfully hard. That said what's all the excitment over a guy who's only had 2.5 sacks over the past 2 years?
I know you guys have nothing to do with it. Oh well, whatever will be will be.
It's not RS Pops it's age. It gets us all.
No Mike, this is RS. I would have to go into a lot of detail to explain so I won't.
That said, i understand the age thing. What I can't understand is how does a 27 yr old DT in his prime with 2.5 sacks over the past 2 years demand  $15m a year. Yes he's younger but Brian played 3 positiins over the past 3 years and created opportunities for others, whether he created a push up the middle, tied up blockers etc. Doing his job by reading offenses and putting other players in position to make plays and playing as a team member without care of his own stats. Yeah he's going to be 35 but do you seriously think a 27 yr old who just got paid $15m a year is going to be a team player, not likely. But if that's their choice so be it. Over the same 2 years Brian has 11.5 sacks and has done what was asked of him by the team and coaches.
I just think after showing his loyalty to this team because he wanted to stay with THIS ORG, his contract should be left alone especially in what will probably be his last season.
I know it's a business but with most businesses an employee is usually rewarded for his longevity and loyalty.  But it seems the NFL is different.
However,  I'm not arguing the point, just frustrated over the situation. I do beg to differ the point that Richardson is KWill. Not even close.

I certainly didn't mean to slight Brian in any way, he's one of my favorite players.  I have not seen anywhere that they intend to give Richardson $15M.  I really hope that Brian can retire a Viking.  I understand your frustration, I'm a father that loves his son also.

I want the best for our Vikings, but i really hate the business side of things. I feel horrible for pops worrying about his kid, just the same way i feel about my kids.

I want this to happen....but my gut is telling me its not going to happen.
Should I just take some Pepto Bismal and quit being such a Debbie downer?

Pops, have they asked Brian to take a cut or are we basing this all off an internet article.  The murray restructure stuff was all over but Ive only seen a mention that Brian could be asked?  Not a he was asked. Im sure theres plenty of behind the scenes stuff that happens that priviy to but it certainly looks like a bunch of speculation.

I'm still hopeful...They had him here overnight. Today is key obviously...If they are signing 2 relatively higher profile players, thats complex.

Sheldon Richardson is still in Eagan this morning. Looking at the facilities, talking to coaches. Stay tuned.

Free agent DT Sheldon Richardson is continuing his visit with the Vikings on Friday.
The Vikings are putting the press on him; Richardson met with GM Rick Spielman and coach Mike Zimmer when he arrived in town Thursday, and he's expected back at the facility today to meet others in the organization. After signing Kirk Cousins, Richardson would be another home run signing and cement the Vikings atop the NFC along with the Eagles. Richardson is reportedly looking for $15 million per year, but no team has been willing to offer it at this point.

I think we'd all appreciate that Pops.  Good luck to you and Brian.
