And when they didn't get 20 and had to rely on the defense... they went 2-14. Don't see how that's Cousins' fault like some talking (air)heads are making it out to be.

It's stats like this I'm clinging to. I don't know almost anything about Cousins except that my buddy in Maryland swears that he's a star in the making. His quote (paraphrasing): "We'd have been the Browns the last couple seasons if we didn't have Cousins." He admitted that was an exaggeration, but was emphasizing he's been carrying that entire offense, and by association, the defense at times too in relation to how they call games.

I'm hoping he's right. I'm not expecting a top 5 QB out of him, but a top 10 would be great.

I think your stat is saying the opposite. That would be like saying it was our defenses fault our offense couldn't score points in 2016. If only they held them to 10 points they would have won those extra games, well sure but if the offense just did a mediocre job they would have won. An average nfl offense should get 23ish points per game. If you're getting less than that, you probably need to work on the offensive side of the ball to get their output up.

WillBeJammin's post that says when the Redskins scored more than 20 points, they still failed to win a 3rd of their games is more damning on the defense. In 2017, of their 9 losses, their defense allowed 29 or more points in 8 of them, which is pretty damning. Their offense failed to score 20 points in 5 of them.
