I am sure glad that everybody was wrong about RM,  he was another one of those guys that as a lifelong fan I am happy to say he is a Viking!

Guards aren't as sexy as DTs and WRs, but a legit argument can be made that McDaniel was the best Viking ever, over the two most often named, Page and Moss.

Vikes never talked to him before the moment they drafted him.  Burns didn't want him.  Steelers said they were going to take him and convert him to a Center!   Art Shell wouldn't take him cuz he thought Randall was too small to play at the next level

Guy was 6-4, 265 when he was drafted and ran a 4.60 forty. As I mentioned last week, that's faster than Anthony Barr and Laquon Treadwell. Freak. Wasn't aware that Burns didn't want him.

Randall told us that when we interviewed him a few years ago, and he said it again yesterday.  That said, he and Jerry got along famously and are still close

Reading the draft memories.....isn't it crazy how much a career/life can change off just a simple decision like picking Randell vs whomever else they might have been targeting?

One of my favorite Vikings ever!  I was greatly saddened watching his final years in Tampa Bay.

Loved reading about Randall's draft memories and how he kept reminding Art Shell. Some guys might have been jerks about it but Randall just smiled and "gave the look." Big Grin Love it!

I absolutely love Randall McDaniel. Not only was he amazing on the field, he is an amazing human being. He is definitely one of my all time favorite Vikings.
