Cousins Destined to sign with the Vikings?
#1
According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, there is "rampant speculation around the league" that free agent Kirk Cousins is "destined" to sign with the Vikings.
Vacchiano isn't a Vikings reporter, but he is covering the league currently at the NFL Combine. We've separately heard whispers Minnesota is Cousins' likeliest destination, but the Jets and Broncos will also make a strong push. It sounds like folks gathering in Indianapolis are whispering more loudly that Cousins-to-Minnesota is a probable match. Free agency will begin on Friday, March 16.

sure hope he doesnt bury the franchise with his record contract but at this point hes the best option. never felt so uneasy about getting the #1 free agent.

Its kind of funny that when you read Ralph Vacchiano's piece he doesn't give any sense that Kirk is a shoe in for MN. The rampant speculation he refers to seems to be media reports rather than NFL personnel. Take it for whatever its worth.

Yup, at some point over the last 2 weeks the media decided this was the story du jour, now I think its just reckless ruminating.

i have a bad feeling that cousins will flop wherever he goes
why?  all the guy does is perform well playing on a marginal team. His numbers over the last 3 years have been better than we are accustom to.  Just enjoy the ride, with him, we are in every football game we play from now on

we were in pretty much every game with without him,  he will have his games where he shits the bed or the team doesnt show up around him... 30 million dollars isnt going to change his game or the team.  we didnt really lose games due to poor QB play and with his warts there is no guarantee that he will truly elevate the position.  Case would have likely threw for more yards if the Vikes didnt try to let the air out of the ball so early in contests where they got big leads.   a lot of cousins stats are playing from behind and throwing against soft defenses.   he will be coming to a new system,  past performance is no guarantee of future results for any of these guys, but especially the one that is coming to a new team.
