You're a g.m. and you see the Vikings who know Teddy better than anyone don't seem inclined to promise him playing time, why is your plan to do just that? What's your fallback if his knee or anything else is an issue? I don't see a team out there that wants or needs to gamble on Teddy. Maybe Cleveland? Good luck in Cleveland, Teddy!
The bills, broncos, and AZ woukd all be suitors. I would also expect the dolphins to have strong interest to compete with tannehill who will have questions of his own.

In the winter....based on what? Your assumption that his knee is some piece of glass waiting for it next opportunity to shatter? If he's cleared to play football I am sure that the joint is stable.
And nobody said anything about handing him a job, but he will get a real chance to compete. If the Vikes sign Cousins there will be no competition. The job would be handed to Cousins no questions asked...why would teddy Sam or case stay for that opportunity?
watch cousins highlights. all of his yards/tds are of him down 35/14 getting free movement & points againts prevent. is that worth 30M Flacco money?
im sure the team has it figured out. if teddy has anything in that knee im behind him a solid 1a and developing sloter, but ill support whoever is in purple. that option leaves us a ton of $$$ and IF (a big if and only the team knows) healthy is a winner.

Watched him a little bit last night. Good arm. Not Sam good, but better than Teddy's. He has this gallup in his drop back that was weird. Inefficient. And it seems to take longer than it should to get to his drops. But he throws the ball well. Better motion than Teddy. A lot faster on the hoof than I expected. Not elusive by any stretch, but this speed outside the pocket wasn't bad. Better than Sam.
Still don't think Cousins is worth all of the hype he's getting, and I still prefer a Sam and Teddy combo, but I like him a little more than I did yesterday.

I think there is some interest, but IMO it's going to be a matter of him getting a chance to compete for a job, not that anyone will give him a starting position. If the Vikings sign Cousins they will be committed to him starting for 4+ years, barring injury - that's a career block for Bridgewater to stay as his backup. Those suitors (Bills, Broncos, Cardinals, Dolphins) make sense except possibly the Broncos. My bet is that Bridgewater will sign with Miami if given an opportunity. He was excited at the rumors he would be traded there when Tannehill was injured last year, it's his hometown team.
His biggest fans seem to believe that loyalty to the Vikings organization is one of Bridgewater's personality traits. But he has been a regular attendee of Adrian Peterson's birthday bashes and the two are reportedly close - don't you think Peterson's attitude towards NFL contracts and the Vikings may have rubbed off? IMO if Bridgewater gives any team a discount and preference, it will be Miami. But he could end up happy for a month until they pick a QB in the draft.

yeah, i dont get the notion that there would be no interest in a 25 year old former first round guy with as much upside as Teddy has in a league driven by the QB position.
I still don't understand why everyone is thinking Cousins to MN is this slam dunk right now. Its not like agents ever drive up the market for their clients ever....
Point being, from who I talk to the Vikings will be in play but the Broncos likely still have just as good of a chance to sign Kirk. The Jets are a close 3rd, but they're almost the wildcard since nobody knows how hard they'll come after him. Winning is important, but the Jets are the team who could still outbid the market to the extent it doesn't really matter what other opportunities present themselves.

I suppose the same could be said about the Vikings, if they miss out on Cousins. Do you think Case, Sam, and possibly Teddy would be insulted by RS and the Vikings by not being their top priority? If they don't win the bidding for Cousins, have you heard any other names the Vikes are interested in (not named Sam, Case, or Teddy)?
