Quick upside and downside to all 3 of our QBs from 2017.
#1
Keenum
Upside: Led team to NFC Championship Game.  Downside: May have reached his full potential

Bradford
Upside: Clearly most talented of the 3 when healthy.  Downside: Hasn't stayed healthy.

Bridgewater
Upside:  Last two full games he beat the Packers and, essentially, the Seahawks.  Downside:  Hasn't played since 2015.

Not that any of this is news.  But those are your choices.  Unless you go off the board for Cousins.  Honestly, I don't think the front office can get it too wrong.  The problem is that the two who we don't keep will likely have success elsewhere that will eat away at us inside.

Happy Wednesday!

I think you need to add that with Bridgewater theres no telling if his knee is "back".  The odds of coming back from a knee dislocation are small.  Do we want to put a SB team in the hands of any QB with that type of injury without knowing damn well he's his old self?

Yeah.  I've said elsewhere that our choices boil down to a guy with a bad knee, a guy with a bad knee and a guy who was a one-year wonder (like Scott Mitchell or Matt Cassel).  All that backed up by a guy who couldn't stay on the Broncos because their QB depth pushed him out.
But I try to be positive.

If he'd gotten into the end zone even once against the Seahags, I'd be able to support that statement more.  Sadly, it was the Blair Walsh Project that scored (and infamously failed to score) all our points that day.

No, Mark, if you were trying to be positive you'd say our choices boil down to a guy with elite arm talent, a guy with elite IT factor and a guy who won 13 games last year. All that backed up by a guy who last preseason went 31 of 43 for 413 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs for a QBR of 125.4. :-)

If you were being realistic-copy and paste the above paragraph and add the following qualifiers: (and a bum knee), (and a bum knee), (and who has the accuracy and field vision of Andrea Bocelli), and (who was playing wide receiver two years ago).

the overriding feelng is that Case had a career season and theres no way to replicate it. and NO ONE is suggesting he could improve.

not sure i agree. i see no reason why he cant impove in the years to come.
all year weve been waiting for him to blow it.  he didnt.

we are easy to credit Shurmur, but disregard Keenum. out here on the west coast i saw a lot of Rams games with him behind center.  both his online and MULTIPLE drops by his receivers made him look worse than he was.

NFCC game you say?  thats not all on Keenum.

kid has some moxie

sorry crappy editing...using my phone

other than the broken fluke play nobody got in the end zone that day and the team liked to put the ball in AP's hands when inside the red zone.  Technically you are correct but that game was unique with the cold and the two teams playing.  I don't know that I'd pump up the performance but I'd hardly hold it against him in that situation.  Each Trip into the red zone they took the ball out of his hands until the inevitable 3rd and long-The franchise back fumbled and couldn't get the yards when they were need 23 carries 45 yards and a fumble lost that lead to the winning FG.  If we lay it at the feet on one guy lay it at the feet of AP and the camel he rode in on.

If you have 3 QBs, do you have 1? That's kind of the question in my mind.

Honestly, I'm glad Flip is here to assist in this because I don't feel Zimmer nor Spielman are top notch guys to assess QB talent.

Was talking with my sons football coach, (Redskins fan) when I mentioned the Cousins to Vikings possibility he said,
"you guys DONT want Cousins...he's always playing from behind, so his numbers always look good, he throws picks at the WORST possible time."

he thought it was crazy we haven't extended Keenum already
