Im ok.  They didnt quit and pretty much expected a Saints hangover. A team wide collapse. I still like this team.  some new O line for depth and Cook back will make for a stronger team.
Lets say theoretically vikes win the super bowl next season. This game was still lack luster and BS.

Barr sucks? Need Receivers? ok then....
Other than Diggs and Thielen ... What do we have?
Uhm, we were 13-3.  9th ranked offense, 1st ranked defense.  We lost a game to the 14-3 Eagles.  You don't win 14 games if you have only 2 players on our team.
Uhm, he was referencing the wide receiver corps, NOT THE ENTIRE ROSTER.

Also, the 14-3 Vikings were just HUMILIATED by the UNDERDOG Eagles, losing by 31 points in a game that really wasn't even THAT close after halftime.

I hope you aren't suggesting this is some sort of  "moral" victory that will benefit the team next year, are you?!

Because that would be really stupid.

I'm done too... done eating that pizza I ordered pre-game. :#   Man that sucker was tasty!

I thought about quitting last night.. 48 years I've been cheering for this team and taken every heart breaker right up my ass like the rest of you.   But really what I'm done with is not watching or rooting for the Vikings, but being deeply emotionally invested in them.   I can't do it any more, it's too much of a drain.

But I can watch like I did last night, dispassionately and if they win I'll enjoy it and if they lose it won't linger past the end of the game.   I knew all week we were going to get pounded, though the beginning of the game gave me a little hope, but it didn't take long to turn bad and by the time they went up 21-7 I turned it off and checked the score on my phone a few times while I watched a movie.   And that was it, it never got better and I wasn't surprised.    And I never got worked up, just made myself stay on an even keel.

But, no drama queen walk off for this fan, I just advise my fellow older fans who are covered in purple scars to realize as I'm sure you do that there is a lot more to life than football and keep things in perspective.

First post?
Ha, I guess so? Long time lurker. If the op wanna go, then go. I'm a Vikings fan. I loved the squad this year. This was a team you would hope to be able to root for. It's brutal, but that team is now gone. Imagine how bad the players are feeling right now. I will remember this year more fondly than any of the forty years i recall. Damn, what a season! Vaya con dios. Thanks for the memories. On to the draft. The record is 0-0 and there is much to look forward to. I won't ever forget the magic. I probably won't live to see a Super Bowl victory but i saw something really rare this year, and so did you if you were paying attention. Skol!
Welcome aboard!

After losing Sam game one then Dalvin  and still making it to the NFC Championship game after going 13 - 3.  No way in hell am i done. Was still an exciting season of Vikings football.   Sure I am a little down after the loss but life goes on.

Yeah, I get pissed, but I'll always watch.  I really enjoyed this season; mainly because I thought they would suck
after losing Sam, and then Cook.  They surprised me, and it was great.

Many may have read some of my posts reiterating: "One game at a time, and I'll only believe they'll win the SB, when I see it".

Not once did I believe in the hype they'd win the SB this year.  I loved the Diggs catch, but I still didn't think that proved this team was "destined" to win it all.  I hoped I'd see it happen, but it's just like all the other good Viking teams, there's always at least one or two teams that are better.  Philly deserved that win, and it sucks.

I'm not sure the Vikes will ever win it, but so what.  They're still my team.

This loss was as easy to absorb as 41 donut.  Halftime rolled around and we knew both games were over.  98 and 09 really sucked ass.

Vikes will be fine.  Good de, good coaches, Cook back, and we'll address Hunter, Barr and Kendrick this offseason with new deals.

Then we'll kick ass again next season.

No you're not.  None of us are done.  We might pay a little less attention for a season or two, sure.  But we've been through a Detroit Lions set of years between '09 and now.  And that was after waiting nearly a decade after 41-donut.  After the most heartbreaking season ever in '98.  And what was that time period between Grant and Green?  And Grant never delivered as popular as he still is.

We're not Browns fans parading after a winless season kind of broken, but somewhere along the line in the last 30 years we all snapped a little and logical thinking left the building.  We're all addicts.  And one day before we hit Millie's age all that heartache, all those stomach churning Sunday afternoons, all this pent up frustration will be released.

I am going to buy rveal.   And I am never going to buy the NFL ticket again.  I have soent over 10k since 1997 for the right to see the Vikings.

I will follow them.  I won't invest monetarily or emotionally again.

The whole kneeling thing, Thursday night football, the refs, the draft was ruined, London, etc.
