I agree. I don't dislike Teddy or Sam. I just can't envision the Vikings letting him go after what he's accomplished this season. 

Seifert: Case Keenum has earned the @Vikings 2018 QB job. Would be the height of arrogance to let him leave. Column:

Keeping Keenum seems like an easy decision. Maybe Sam or Teddy could have gotten this far. Maybe. Keenum actually did. He has earned the job.

unless hes asking for a huge contact itd be tough to let him walk if we are able to keep the same or similar O. i love Teddy, so unless they can work out something like Geoff has been saying (Teddy for like 8 while case wants 20+) Id say Case is probably the guy. 

is he perfect? no. but he hits that throw when needed, has icewater in his veins for this D. and makes plays in the redzone. 

the guy is almost the opp of sleeves.

And I'm not saying sign Keenum for stupid $ or letting Teddy and Sam walk.

I do think we need to see what happens with Case if/when we lose Shurmur. Ideally we have some combination of Case, Bridgewater or Sam and Sloter at TCO in Eagan this summer.

I dont think its been a question of should he be resigned the last month or so,  but at what cost,  when the topic of resigning him comes up.   Of the 3 Case deserves the biggest contract offer and thats beyond question,  but there are still questions regarding him and his game that concern myself and others when it comes to how much for how long,   especially with Shurmur leaving.

Count me in as someone who agrees. The guy continuously outplays his scouting report, and expectations. No way he's done anything but cement his status as starter for 2018.

He deserves to be retained on a team friendly long-term deal or the franchise tag, he doesn't deserve to have the 2018 starting job handed to him.

Agree on the team friendly, long-term deal. Not aligned re: 2018 starter. I don't know why he'd bother to come back for a competition vs being the incumbent.
