PyeongChang Flames Out as Least-Watched Winter Olympics Ever
NBC’s primetime coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea closed out on Sunday as the least-watched in recorded history.
Olympics coverage across NBC broadcast, NBC Sports and NBC Sports Digital averaged 19.8 million viewers. That’s down seven percent from the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, which did not include simultaneous coverage on cable and digital. On NBC alone, coverage of the 2018 games was watched by 17.8 million viewers.
The most-watched Winter Olympics of the last 20 years were the 2002 games in Salt Lake City, which averaged 31.9 million.

Dont know how this breaks down by generation, but I did hear on the radio the Olympic leadership was concerned about their dwindling interest with Millennials and even younger...

Hell, maybe they really will have a video-game sport in it one day lol! I heard on KFAN radio that was being floated around - not sure how serious the notion really is.

The most boring Olympics for me in recent memory...hardly watched any of it. The hype was even more manufactured than normal by NBC. Millennials don't watch the Olympics. Lindsay Vonn is 33 years old and she was on ALL of the advertising, etc. for these games and she was a non-factor....just a past prime Olympic athlete. A pretty face....yawn.

I watched a lot of the events on NBCSportsChannel.  I barely watch anything on regular NBC, though.

the events I wanted to watch were most often on in the later hours and I wasnt going to sit up for them,  the replays the next day were during working hours so once again that sucked.   about every time i turned it on it was figure skating of some sort or speed skating,  if i am going to watch skating they better have sticks and be chasing a little piece of frozen rubber around the ice.

and for some reason the luge, bobsled, and skeleton events didnt really hold me this year.  i usually like all of them,  but it just wasnt that interesting,  i dont think the tracks was tough enough in that nobody really had a rough time getting down.  it was like watching nascar at kansas or las vegas... no action.

That was our experience as well.  Every night it was figure skating, couples figure skating, short dance, long dance...

Then lent started and we turned off the TV until Sunday.  And when we turned it back on, more figure skating. 

One of my boys did watch quite a bit through instagram or snap chat.  But the TV coverage was awful.

I don't usually watch much if any Olympics but this year I watched more than I had since probably the 80's.   Of course having recurring insomnia helped, as I would find myself up at 2 a.m. with nothing to do, and they would be on.  So I saw a ton, including a lot of halfpipe, short track, curling, saw the USA women win it live at like 3 a.m.   Jesse Diggins, that was a great story.    I really enjoyed it.
