Case is now the future
#21
It was a miraculous play, but if the ball had bounced differently, people would be talking about the horrendous pick that Keenum threw earlier in the game. Let's just enjoy the ride for now and see where it takes us. Once the season is over, then the Vikings can figure out which direction makes the most sense for them. Keep in mind that Shurmur will likely have a HC job in Arizona or New York, they will need to decide how they feel about Sam & Teddy's health, and there will be teams willing to throw a stupid amount of money at Keenum, which could impact our ability to retain other players like Barr, Diggs, and Hunter. Lots of moving pieces that can all impact which decision is best going forward.

case is a very easy guy to like, but still doesnt seem to be a guy that could carry a team on his own. if he’ll stay for a decent amount as we develop sloter or a pick so we can also sign diggs, barr, hunter, etc... sure. but if he wants 20M+, i doubt it.

yeah.

Case and Drew were both 25 for 40.  Case had more yards.  and had 1 td 1 int.  drew had 3 tds and 2 int.

So yeah. think what you want.
Exactly. The Saints have a good D, also. Some fans are absolutely insane. No QB can carry a team on his own, including Drew Brees.

I think Case is the immediate future if he doesn't handcuff the cap.  15 mill or so over the next 2 to 3 years while Sloter develops and another prospect is added.  We will likely need another vet for next season though.

I'm all for a Keenum-Sloter type scenario if its true what Guru says about Minnesota LOVING Kyle Sloter. Get Sloter to start in 19' or 20'.

um........he pretty much carried this team today. one shit pass which happens.  otherwise he threw everything you could ask for. most of those passes were nuts on a nat acurate.

It wasn't just that one throw.

The one to Jarius to put us in field goal range.  Or the one to Thielen.  That was a solid performance.

Case was solid, I'd say above that if not for one pick. Of course he's the starter here next year, even if he F's up the NFCCG.

He will be signed for 2/3 years or they will franchise him.

So, how bout them Eagles next?

he threw balls that were caught yes,  but he leaves a lot of yards on the field because he doesnt lead his receivers very well,  but... the balls are completed which is the most important part.    there is room for improvement,  the question then becomes can he improve or are we seeing his ceiling?  at his age I dont see arm strength improving so I dont know if he will ever be able to put enough on a flatter trajectory pass,  the lob passes may be his compensating?
