Can we archive the chat room please?

I wasn't in there this week, but I would love to read the back and forth and raw emotions in the chat room as that all played out.   Smile

Haha! No doubt some gems in that chat. Take me a few days before I could read it, though. Feel like I'm still coming down from the high of that game.

I will admit I said the fix was in and the league didn't want the Vikings in the SB.  I was pissed, then elated in 10 seconds.  Still not quite wrapping my head around what happened.

Just as a preface, I work at a steel mill, but I don’t produce steel or iron, I work in the Power Generating Station located there and we run 6 boilers, 3 generators, and 3 Turbo Blowers.

I usually hang out in chat, good place to be when things are going good, and when things are going bad. kind of like we rejoice or suffer together.

Today however, I had to work and didn’t want to use a vacation day because its really early in the year and on Sunday we usually don’t have anything going on and I can catch a stream of the game somewhere.

Today was different, about 3:15 pm the while place went dark. Lights out dark, we started losing equipment fast. The Blast Furnace called and said they lost control of the furnaces and we needed to back down the wind we provide to them.

All hell broke loose, within minutes we were scrambling to get equipment restarted and not lose the boilers that were on line.

At one point one of our generators over filled with condensate water and blew a relief on top of the generator while I was about ten feet away from it. Water gushed from places I’d never seen it come out of. I thought I was really going to die. Later as I was trying to get a boiler under control, the one next to it started making noise like it was going positive. Which means it could blow up. Again I thought I was going to die.

Within about 2 1/2 hours we had things under control and I was finally able to check the score 17 - 0, but the Saints were in scoring position. Then Case tossed an interception. By then it was time to get ready to leave.

I flipped on the radio in the truck and it was 17-14 and the Vikes were just kicking a FG to make it 20-14.

When I walked into the house the Saints went up 21-20. i was frustrated, had a terrible headache, and needed to shit and shower.

I did, and when I got out the Vikings were now leading 23-21 but the Saints had just converted the 4th down and by now I knew the curse would never be lifted.

I didn’t turn the game on in my tv room. My wife watched upstairs with my two sons.

When she went nuts as Diggs caught the ball and scored I walked upstairs, to see the replay.

After a short celebration, I told her about what happened at work and as I told her I just kind of lost it. Broke down and cried. Probably from havinga head ache, being exhausted, and from the emotional drain this game sometimes gives me.

I ate a couple of pieces of left over pizza and drank a bottle of Mexican Coca-Cola, you know the good stuff. Real sugar and the way it tasted when I was a kid.

Then, I sat down and watched the game.

I need a copy of that Chat Room archive. I love those guys, and girls, who hang out there on game day. I missed being there today and rejoicing when it was good, and being pissed together as the lead slipped away.

Oh, and by the way. A new janitor caused all of that stuff at work today. Apparently nobody ever told him he shoukdn’t spray electric panels with a garden hose when he cleaned a sub station room. I’m glad he didn’t get electrocuted, and I hope he is still employed come tomorrow.

Omg Rip, that's a hell of a day. I am glad you are ok and the Vikings are moving on to Philly. I can't wait to read the chat.

I have went on and off to the STL fan club since 94 since I was 7. Went only twice this year and watched others at game or home. Was fortunately in attendance for this game and it was incredible. Wow! Skol!
