How do you stop the Saints Passing game?
#41
I like when people say "Never have hope, you'll be happier that way" with all seriousness and earnestness and without a hint of understanding the irony there. Hilarious.

Maybe it's just me, but I would rather play the Saints than the Panthers. Running QB's give us a little more trouble than pocket QB's.
The Vikes collapse pockets pretty well, and with Brees only being 6' .. I like that matchup with our D.
I agree.  Cam can either be awful or spectacular.  Harder to game plan against that.

Brees and NO will likely be trying to get rid of the ball quick.  They will have a game plan, but we have had more time and they are beat up traveling to our house.

I will put my money on our D.

Typical purple stupidity.  There is always a chance.

I agree with jargo. Pound the hell out of Brees every chance they get. Give him happy feet and make him start paying more attention to the pass rush than the WRs.
That said we can't allow the quick passing game to get started and first and foremost we have to stop the run.
Zimmer knows what he's doing and our guys won't take it for granted that we beat them the first game. They've gotten better but we've gotten whole lot better on both sides of the ball too.
Well the 4 man rush and contain won't likely get to Brees. We need a 5th blitzer in disguised D sets. I too want to get Drew some recuperation  time...like until next August at the very least! You have to wonder if they feel pay back is in the mix? But only your boy was on that team in 09. I'm sure he'll remind the guys how that shit show of reffing went!

I like how our defense matches up with them. Rhodes closed on Thomas. As fast as Ginn is, he isn't as fast as Waynes. Snead and Alexander are nearly twins. They don't have a TE that scares anyone. That should free up Barr and Harry to focus on Kamara. Linval and former Saint Tom Johnson should love the idea that Peat isn't playing. Anything can happen in the NFL, so I'd be lying if I said I weren't nervous about it, but if we can play balanced, ball control offense and keep mistakes to a minimum, this game is ours for the taking. Vikings are just a better team. Losing this game at home would be a pretty big upset.

Too much angst after NO barely beat a team the Vikings should have beaten in Carolina.

The facts are as follows: with a chance to clich the Division and possibly move into the #3 seed the Saints lost to an awful Bucs team to end the season. The Vikings didn't lose a game against that level of opponent anywhere this season.

Another irrefutable fact is that Carolina's CBs stink. As do their DEs.

Here's another one. Funchess would be the #3 WR in Minnesota. He's #1 on the Panthers.

And did I mention that Matt Khalil is their LT?

Davis and Keuchly are amazing. But are they that much better than Barr and Kendricks at this stage of their careers?

Bottom line is that Minnesota is the. better team, across the board. If they do what they did with regularity this year, play smart, clean football, they will win on Sunday. Period.

I have complete faith in Zimmer's scheme and the Vikes defense.  Should be a good game but I believe the Vikings will be playing in the NFC Championship game.

Then you need to become a Browns fan. There is no hope, chance, or future.
