If Russ Ball is in, Mike McCarthy may be out

More trouble in paradise...? 
With the Packers hiring a new G.M., the new G.M. will have to want to work with coach Mike McCarthy. On Thursday, McCarthy made it clear that he’ll have to want to work with the new G.M.
Bob McGinn, who covered the Packers for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and who now operates his own media outlet, suggests that the final configuration in the new front office will consist of Russ Ball as General Manager, and Brian Gutekunst as executive V.P. of football operations. Then, per McGinn, McCarthy will have to decide whether he wants to stay.

CLASSIC. He's the head coach. He leads those men. So, a little adversity, and peace out?! LOL! Coaching oppertunities are a dime a dozen I guess...

From what I've heard there is going to be a minor fallout if Ball ends up being named the GM. Not that Ball isn't a worthy candidate, but there are going to be a lot of political issues in a reshaped front office. Both Gutekunst & Wolf were denied past interviews since they were the heirs to Thompson. That won't leave a good taste, especially with Wolf.

That's what I've been hearing locally as well...  Gutenkust might stay if he's promoted to assistant GM, but Wolf would likely leave.

I'm honestly shocked by the upheaval in the Packers organization right now.  One of my Packer fan buddies is excited because he's expecting all their problems to be solved now, but there are two sides to every coin...  No guarantees that the coaches and front office choices will be better than the guys they are replacing.

Ain’t that the truth. When the Vikings were 2-2 earlier this year, I started seeing a number of posts questioning Zimmer’s coaching ability and I posted multiple times trying to get a few people to step back from the ledge and look at the bigger picture and the major setbacks he’s been dealt pretty much every year he’s been coaching the Vikings.

There were even a few conspiracy-theory posts after Bradford started the Chicago game that Zimmer was desperate to win that game because he was going to be fired on the plane back from London after losing to the Browns.

It got really friggin weird in here for a while, thank god some of those fans are not in charge of the team.
