Yesterday's game should have been over before the 4th Quarter started. The first half wasn't an aberration. Other than Brees, who's starting to look his age, and that RB tandem, they didn't have any Unit that was equal to or better than Minnesota's.
Now, as perennially snakebitten fans you never want to loudly proclaim that on a Vikings fan site because you'll surely jinx the team. And so I didn't say it.
But it's true. And Minnesota let the Saints hang around too long and it almost bit them in the ass. And that's a good thing.
I've long been a believer that in sports you need to experience some Playoff or Tournament growing pains to win it all. And yesterday was painful at times.
So the Vikings have learned to land the knockout punch the next time they have an inferior opponent on the ropes. And they learned it in a game they won. One more team to beat and the Super Bowl awaits.
