think as long as I pay with paypal my azz is covered but not 100% sure. I haven't used my paypal account in several years.
Anybody know?
In the DMB community we are always trading and selling DMB tickets (we do it for face value though).  We use PayPal for payment, that way we're protected when paying for tickets before we get them.

If you do decide to buy those tickets make sure there is a paper trail.

Yes, paypal helps and would be my payment method of choice. He should send you an invoice/payment request. As stated above, don't use the friends/family option. I can also understand wanting a little reassurance, though. It would be disappointing to find out on game day that the tickets aren't legit. I remember a guy who bought tickets to the Vikings opener last year against the Packers. He tried to scan his tickets in and immediately got an error. They were bought through Stubhub and they took care of him by getting tickets to the next game. But he missed the game he really wanted to see.

In any case, good luck! Let us know what you decide to do.

Here's what I paid in 1998 for a ticket to the NFCC game at the Metrodome: $295. Any idea what I'd pay now? I mean, I'd consider flying into Minneapolis, spending the money for airfare and hotel for my wife and I, I just have no idea what the tickets would cost. And how scarce they'd be. $500 a ticket? $600?

No clue yet. But, the face value prices for 2018 Vikings playoff tickets can be found via the link below:

I'm not sure when they will go on sale. Season ticket holders had to 'opt in'. They're giving next priority to anyone who is on the season ticket waiting list. After that, any open seats will go on sale but I don't know when that will happen. It will be interesting to see the prices on the resale market.

I've inquired to 4 different craigslist ads so far. I begin by asking if the tickets are still available. After I get a response that they are available I follow up with:
No offense intended, but what assurance do I have that this is legit? Can't be too careful, there are scammers all over craigslist.

Nothing but crickets after that. Either I am offending sellers or I am offending scammers lol
Either way, I am still looking. I'm still hoping the price will drop after week 16

The other thing you can do is buy from on the street right before game time. No guarantees of legitimacy of course, but thats probably going to be least expensive.

Too bad tixmaster fees are so high. S hit has Judge Judy written all over it otherwise.

I was a season ticket owner for a decade but haven't been now for years.  Here's what I can tell you from my experience on the secondary market and going to road games.
The Ticketmaster option is the only one that's guaranteed legit.  That's why it rakes you over the financial coals to make it happen.
Personally, I've bought from seatgeek and stubhub over the years and I've never had an issue.  Seatgeek will refund the cost of the tix if they're not legitmate; I think stubhub just cancels the account of the bogus seller.  I'm not sure on that.
I've also bought from guys on the street.  Least reliable and I don't recommend it.  I did get in but it wasn't a fun time.

No way I'm flying in, getting a hotel room and spending that kind of money without legitimate seats from an authorized source like Ticketmaster beforehand.

It took a lot of emails to and from one seller but I finally got tickets! 4 tickets in section 116 for an even grand. Similar tickets on ticketmaster are $1336 before fees and $1656.64 with fees.
I sat in section 113 last year for the Arizona game so I'm familiar with the area.
I went to 3 games (3 wins) last year but am trying to cut expenses this year so this is my only game.
I can't wait to do that SKOL chant again with all the crazy VIKEFANS!

Thank you all for the help and advice that made this a little less nerve racking. I really didn't want to send $1000 to a craigslist ad but I did it and I believe it all worked out well.
