I care that I was privileged to watch an amazing running back in his prime. It was pretty exciting. As for now, I wish him the best as he deals with a fading career. And I hope he retires as a Viking.
Yes, it was a privilege. Now he isn't a Viking so I could care less.
He returned from the ACL with a vengeance, but recent history shows he isn't eager to put his neck on the line for meager returns. He tried coming back last year, but since we were not in contention, that fizzled out.
It's official. He's out for the rest of the year and has been placed on IR due to the neck injury.

Nope. Hate to see anyone get injured but don't care about this injury any more that other non-Vikes.
This.
I don't wish injury on anybody...well maybe that's not true, but not in this case, however when he actively lobbied away from this team after all the support and money this franchise and it's fans gave him....well fuck him.
I understand players moving on for better money, but he was tops at his position by a long shot, and he wasn't even coming close to earning it here and that still wasn't good enough for him. He was a great ball carrier and that's about all the good I can say about him, after that he seemed to me to be a pretty selfish individual from an outsiders observation.
Jimmy, i know many fans think that him leaving had to do with money and such, but it wasn't all of the story.
Just as it was when PWill left. He had said he wanted to play a couple more years.
Both left and it had more to do with RS and his lies to players than anything as well as the things he has said to them and the way he has handled them.
I suspect that you may ne able to add a few more players to that list in the next few years even though it seems hunky dory to the fans it may not be.
It's hard to play for someone when you don't know if you can trust their word.
I hold no ill will towards AD and yes he has become a very good friend if Brian's and of this family. I wish the best for recovery to him and hope he continues to play, or is able to play.
I don't care if he left once his contract expired, what bothered me was him trying to force his way out when he was under contract and was already the highest paid guy at his position by far. AD reaching out to jerruh really pissed me off after defending his previous antics and actions.
I am sure he's a good guy, but as a Vikings fan I say screw his selfish ass. If he is to good for my team, he is to good for my allegiance.
Personally I think he is a mental midget and the guy we see as a business person is actually his agent. I see AD as a 16 year old jock trapped in a 30 something body. He's so wrapped up in his own aura that he doesn't see reality.
A good guy doesn't bloody a 4 year old...I think he's a walking, talking piece of fecal matter who happened to be blessed with extraordinary physical talents...which he parlayed into living like a king...until he bankrupts himself...which we can probably set an egg timer to...
IMO, all aging veterans want that last hurrah...to go out as a winner. Sadly, many times that cannot be done with the team they made their rep with. AD is no different. I enjoyed his play immensely and have fond memories of that 2009 team and what could have been.
That said, he's human with all the human frailties most of us have. Greed, pride, arrogance are not unique to Adrian. I would have loved him to be that perfect athlete both on and off the field, but as we have seen, many come up short.
He's not on the vikings team so it's a simple answer. No.
I stopped caring about AD after we paid him during his switch suspension and he still gave us crap for more guaranteed money the following year - he is a me-first stupid athlete who can't see his career closing rapidly. Happy he is not a Viking any longer and wanted him gone suspension year so our offense could evolve to modern day with a 3 down back like Cook.
I honestly forgot he was still playing. I don’t follow a lot of other teams or care who is playing for them. Until this was posted I hadn’t thought of Adrian.
I don’t dislike the guy, but I also don’t really care. He isn’t some great humanitarian, unlike some others that have played or are currently playing for the Vikings.

Pops, as is often the case, you give us a lot to think about.
Re Spielman, I don't doubt he disappoints players at times, but do they find that other NFL personnel are much different when they leave?

I think there is plenty of ugly on the part of both sides when it comes to the business aspect of the game. I am sure that all teams front office people will say whatever it takes to get nest deal for their teams.
