It has opened a whole new world that's for sure. And shed a lot of light on an old one. But like anything else, it's all in how you use it. Some people use it to help and educate others and others abuse it.

A lot of people dont care if it's true or not and pass it along because it's for the "greater good"

So much information, misinformation & the rush to be first, it all becomes a muddled mess, just the way some want it

I have removed myself from the worst of the social media as I had issues with it.  Facebook gone.  Twitter gone.  Etc.

I don't miss it nor the drama.

Generally, I've found if they're South of Highway 8 its possible that they have a 2nd grade reading level.  However, if you get North of Highway 8 its an entirely different story.  Up there the men are men, the women are men and the sheep are nervous.  They talk about how backwoods the Appalachian region can be....and it is...but so are parts of WI

Around where I live, in NW Indiana, we have a saying that we have abbreviated to S.O.T., it means South of 30. That references U.S. Highway 30.

We generally have the opinion that anyone south of Rt. 30 is backwards, uneducated, and generally lower class. It’s all in fun, to us anyway, I’m sure those living in that area aren’t fond of it.

It’s basically like that until you get to Indianapolis, and even there you’ll find the same kind of people. Seems as soon as you get 10 miles south of 30, everyone speaks with a southern accent. It’s why The Region, or NW Indiana, is disregarded by the rest of the state and they lump us in with Chicago.
