Thx for your prayers....mostly Ventura county, but spreading (North of LA, South of Santa Barbara)

we we get no rain here all year so the brush is like kindling.... then the Santa Ana winds kick up...once a fire gets going its hard to stop as the winds spread the embers like a dandelion, so it touches off other areas.  A few years ago the fires were so bad the satellite photos showed this big long trail of smoke across the state.
We are South of LA, We are fine, but someone here I think lives closer to Ventura...forget who.

Fanopurple lives around there I believe

its the winds....they die down there's a chance to get a handle on them, but the last three days the winds have been whippin' out here spreading the wildfires across roads, neighborhoods...etc.

Boy, Fano just dropped off the map. Hope they're all good/ok.

today it was closer to home.  if anyone knows LA—the 405 was closed from the 101 to the 10.  thats a stretch of about 12miles and is a main artery through the city.  closing that is major.  the fire was on one side of the 405 the Bel Air—Beverly Hills side.  im told Ruper Murdock’s 30M home is in flames.  sniff sniff. its the Santa Ana winds that are scary—just got an alert on my phone saying,” strong winds over night creating extreme fire danger. stay alert. listen to authorities.” Oy.

I'm flying into San Diego later tonight and I hear the winds are increasing today to almost 'hurricane force'. Will make for an interesting landing.

That 405 drive near Skirball was my commute every weekday for three years. Crazy seeing that apocalyptic scene.

As long as the winds cooperate, I think that fire should be okay and under control soon. The air quality just sucks. I'm 10 miles from there in Santa Monica and I've had a sore throat since Tuesday evening.

Heads up, Fano just wanted me to let everyone know he and the family are safe. I just got word from my sister and relieved to say she is doing ok as well.
