San Diego State senior RB Rashaad Penny will attend the Reese's Senior Bowl after accepting an invitation.
Penny was able to reach a thousand yards despite being a backup to Donnel Pumphrey, and he was the nations leading rusher this year with 2,027 yards. He also has returned seven kicks for touchdowns, showing that he can be a contributor on special teams as well. He appears to be a volatile NFL prospect right now, but if he shows out in the Senior Bowl against the best of the best, it will be a major boon for Penny's draft stock. Don't be surprised if he does just that. Source: Reese's Senior Bowl Hello...5-10, 220lbs and SEVEN returned kicks and punts for TDs you say...I'm listening... I think we need a heavy VF presence at the Senior Bowl, @Tom Moore...

B.J. Hill - DL - Wolfpack
North Carolina State DT B.J. Hill has accepted an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl. Hill (6'4/315) was rated by many as a potential first-round pick, but that stock has slipped -- in large part because of the strong play of other defensive tackles. He's still a talented interior lineman who finished with three sacks and was Honorable Mention All-ACC this year. Source: Reese's Senior Bowl

Kalen Ballage - RB - Sun DevilsArizona State RB Kalen Ballage accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.Ballage is a freak athlete and even opened his collegiate career splitting time as an edge rusher. With that said, Ballage only topped 100 rushing yards once this season. It will be a great platform for Ballage to show his pass protecting and receiving skills.Source: Senior Bowl on Twitter Dec 5 - 10:41 AM
Luke Falk - QB - CougarsWashington State QB Luke Falk will attend the Senior Bowl.Falk opened the season with buzz thanks to plenty of production as part of an offensive powerhouse. However, that positivity has trailed off a bit thanks to a five-interception game against Cal and a three-interception performance when facing Washington. Separating Falk from his offense is crucial to his evaluation.Source: Senior Bowl on Twitter Dec 5 - 10:22 AM Cole Madison - T - CougarsWashington State redshirt senior T Cole Madison accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior BowlMadison was graded the top offensive tackle in the country in 2016, and did a solid job of keeping the Cougar quarterbacks upright in 2017. He has less-than-ideal size (6'5/265) so a strong Senior Bowl would be a massive boon for his prospective draft status.Source: Reese's Senior Bowl Dec 4 - 10:45 PM M.J. Stewart - DB - Tar HeelsUNC senior cornerback M.J. Stewart has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.In an atrocious year for North Carolina, Stewart has been one of the very few bright spots. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound cornerback broke up 12 passes, and has six career interceptions to his name. He's been given anywhere between first-and-third round grades, so the Senior Bowl will be big for the senior corner.Source: Reese's Senior Bowl Dec 4 - 10:39 PM Wyatt Teller - G - HokiesVirginia Tech redshirt junior accepted an invite to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.Teller (6'6/295) technically has another year of eligibility left, but he'll obviously give that up. The guard was named first-team All-ACC the last two years, and is the only guard that has yet to allow multiple pressures this year, according to Pro Football Focus.Source: Reese's Senior Bowl Dec 4 - 10:31 PM J'Mon Moore - WR - TigersMissouri redshirt senior WR J'Mon Moore has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.Moore (6'3/205) was the leading receiver in the SEC in 2016, and while he didn't lead the conference in 2017, he did better his numbers with 62 catches for 1,017 yards and ten touchdowns. He was a huge part of Missouri's turnaround over the second-half of the season, and he'll be one of the more heavily scouted wideouts this January.

Harold Landry - DL - Eagles
Boston College senior DE Harold Landry accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Landry (6'3/245) has drawn comps to Falcons DE Vic Beasley and will be in the first-round conversation this spring. Just how high he might be able to rise will depend on how the evaluating process plays out. The stalwart senior has registered 38 tackles (8.5 for loss) and five sacks this season. An ankle injury has sidelined him for the past four games, hence why those numbers are not particularly eye-popping. You want eye-popping, though, look no further than the 2016 season. Landry put up 50 tackles (22 for loss) and 16.5 sacks a year ago. When he's healthy, he has dominant upside. Source: AL.com

Maurice Hurst - DL - Wolverines Michigan redshirt senior DL Maurice Hurst has not yet decided whether he will play in the team's Outback Bowl showdown with South Carolina on New Year's Day.
Hurst (6'2/280) said that he would discuss the bowl with his family before making a final decision. The redshirt senior has turned in a career-best statistical season this year, putting up 58 tackles (13.0 for loss), 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Looking past the Outback Bowl, Hurst has accepted an invitation to play in January's Senior Bowl, the premier postseason stage for draft evaluation. Walter Football's Charlie Campbell believes Hurst will be selected before the end of Day 2 (Rds. 2-3) in the spring. The analyst does not rule out the possibility that he could be drafted in the first round. Source: Nick Baumgardner on Twitter

Jaylen Samuels - RB - Wolfpack NC State senior H-Back Jaylen Samuels accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Samuels (5'11/236) has been considered one of the more versatile players in college football, as he has the ability to play fullback, tight end, and has even been able to take some carries. He has one of the best catch-rates according to Pro Football Focus; so really the only question is what he'll be at the next level. He currently has anywhere from second-to-fourth round grades associated with him, so a strong Senior Bowl showing will go a long way towards him going closer to the former. Tyrell Crosby - T - Ducks Oregon Senior T Tyrell Crosby was the highest rated pass-blocker in the Pac-12, according to Pro Football Focus.
Per PFF, the Ducks actually finished with the top two pass blockers, as Calvin Throckmorton was ranked just behind Crosby (6/5/310). Crosby was also one of the top rated run-blockers in the country, and if you ask us, that's a pretty good combination. Crosby will next be seen in the Las Vegas Bowl, and then he'll have a chance to really improve his draft stock with a strong showing in the Senior Bowl. Source: Pro Football Focus on Twitter Dec 11 - 10:03 PM Jalyn Holmes - DL - Buckeyes Ohio State senior edge rusher Jalyn Holmes has accepted an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl.Holmes (6'5/270) hasn't put up big numbers at Ohio State, but he's always flashed his athleticism and currently is viewed as a potential day-two selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. It'll be up to Holmes to stand out at the event to show he's not just a raw prospect who needs significant development before he's capable of playing at the next level. Source: Reese's Senior Bowl Dec 11 - 9:45 PM Durham Smythe - TE - Fighting Irish Notre Dame redshirt senior TE Durham Smythe has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.Smythe has shown the ability to make plays as a receiver, but his best path to the NFL is his ability to block. The six-foot-six, 255-pound tight end did have a career best 18 yards per catch, and he scored four touchdowns in 2016. Draft Analyst's Durham Smythe currently projects the senior tight end to go in the sixth or seventh round. Source: Reese's Senior Bowl

Will Hernandez - G - Miners
UTEP senior G Will Hernandez has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl. If you ever need proof that there can be NFL talent on really bad football teams, here ya go. The Miners went 0-12 in 2017, but Hernandez (6'3/330) was still able to show on tape that he's one of the very best guard prospects in the country. He's currently projected to go somewhere in second-to-third round range, but we've seen offensive lineman dominate at events like this and improve his stock substantially. Hernandez could be one of those players. Source: Reese's Senior Bowl

Troy Fumagalli - TE - Badgers
Wisconsin senior TE Troy Fumagalli accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl. Fumagalli (6'6/248) got off to a roaring star in 2017 -- scoring touchdowns in the first three games -- but was mostly quiet in the remaining games as the Badgers relied on the run game. That's part of the appeal of the senior tight end, however, as he's one of the better blockers in the class at the position. He's currently projected as someone who will go in the third-to-fifth round in the 2018 NFL Draft. Source: Reese's Senior Bowl There's a couple Day 2 TEs I wouldn't mind picking up...this is one of them...kid from Penn State would also be a good grab...maybe with one of our comp picks... |
