My wife is a NBC Today show watcher....apparently, there were rumors for years about Lauer.

To your point: I don't get it. Its seems like normal operating procedure to not act like a f#$%ing goon at work.

All workplaces are requireD by law to have an anti sexual harassment poster posted.  Many require their employees to sign a anti sexual harassment policy....mine is annually.  If these idiots are falling for actions in the last 20 years or so it's on them,  no excuses.

However,  how many of these claims are from women who tried to use sex to get ahead and are now trying to use the same act as a chance for a payday or at least a parting shot? I am not making the "she asked for it by dressing that way" arguement.  I am saying there are likely plenty who have used sex as a tool that are now making claims.

It is irresponsible to discuss women who have used sex as a tool in these situations.

Innocent until proven guilty ... but in these cases coming out there appears to be legitimate victims.

I don't get men who treat women this way.

I think a lot of men think a position of power or title makes them attractive to women to the point they abuse the position.  They convince themselves that the feelings are mutual or that they are being led in that direction by the women.  I am sure Lauer thought he was untouchable...pun intended Smile   Abuse of power comes in many forms and sexual harassment is very common - IMO.  I have been in the corporate world for 30 years and have seen it in action.  Bullying is also common.  So it is like high school in some respects Smile

Or women that treat men this way.

Funny how Mariah Carey isn't in these conversations?  Double standard?

Crazy. I live my life by a pretty simple set of rules...

1) Be a good human...

2) Don't do things that are destructive to others. Apply destructive to any and all scenarios.

Some of these dudes are pretty high on power. I've met a few in my industry, and have had some pretty challenging situations arise because of people in power forgetting Rules 1 & 2.

Because I'm a Star Wars dork... I've found some folks are Anakin than Luke, and more easily seduced to the Dark Side (ie: being an asshole).
